looks like you messed something up there... :?

when I click on the screenshot to download the skin nothing happens...

:hihi:

the colours are gorgeous but it looks like it's going to be rather on the darkside like most of the other-skins - the current colour-depedencies of various icons support going in that direction...

edit: 'items' not 'icons' :dog:

personally I think I don't like the faders too much...

You have the old version there, have you tried the latest?
What's the difference? I like the one I'm using.

pakana ... you got any objections to me posting a 'proper' monochrome 'remix' of that skin ???

Pakana, i like it also as is.

Looking forward to download it, great job! thanks!

pHz & al you guys can help me remix/mod things as much as you want to, go ahead!

If it's good I might do it, but I have a hard time understanding why anyone would want a GUI that looks like it's under a coloured lens :?

Sickle, I thinks the colours are much better in v0.92 and I also removed some "reflections" and the semi-transparent curve things from horiz. sliders.

Jens you're right, pretty dark this one but as I like lighter colours there will be the third version still. What about the faders, don't like 2D or the shape?

 :-D 8)

they look like trying to emulate hardware-faders but imo fail (too small, too bland) and I think they don't gel with the other icons...

oh and another thing: most skins fail at being able to tell the difference between 0 and 8 for the fader-values (because of the black line in the middle) - how is your new skin in that regard? :)

Post

I think it's a basic design flaw of jorgen. I don't understand why the number has to be where it is. Even though the skin maker can use a much shorter or dotted line? Anyhow, number could be placed somewhere else or make it a separate object for skin creators to move around freely.

Cheers!

PS. I know nothing about skinning so my idea/comment might be completely bogus.

no, I completely agree - skin-makers have a unneccessarily hard time making their skins really usuable (the inverted colours in the piano-roll in many skins are another example) - imo the skin-editor needs to get fixed for V2 as well... :-)

Post

Yeah Jorgen was looking into PNGs at least so maybe the skin editor is getting an overhaul :)

didn't piz's skin find a nice way round this by having a movable slidery thingy?

Post

All you need is the fader background bitmap not to have a central (black) line or find a distinctive colour for the fa_font_col.

Showing the fader value is not a problem, I just find the numbers completely useless as they are now... what's the scale anyway?

It would be cool if the vertical faders had the same behaviour of "flipping" sides to avoid the thumb.

Post

I must say i like this skin. it is not hard on the eyes :)
However the Default GUI is still good aswell

when I start automating the volume of a track I take its main-level as a starting point - I have linear templates from five upward in steps of five so its about loading the right template and perhaps adjusting it in the right way so that I don't alter my mix accidently&unwantedly :-)
