Just recieved the graphics for the synth from Grymmjack, should not take too long to finish?

For the FreeAmpSE GUI? Have a blast :D I hang up my GIMP and bow out of the graphics stuff.

Thanks all

And about the amp name :D AKA Joseph DeHelian
The sound is more important than the appearance, but if the appearance can compliment the sound the gadget makes, all the better. I'm excited to start the FreeAMP project. And I was able to test the animations in another skinning engine so I know they are perfect to the pixel :)

Cool! Glad to hear everything is still going on as planned over here! :D

I like FreeAMP as it is, but there are a few things I would improve if possible.

1) I like the idea of simplifying EQ-schemes. Perhaps a 3-band pre-amp and a 3-band post amp only?

2) I'm really glad you're working to increase process efficiency.

3) Something that's a bit of a pipe dream for me would be an "acoustic" amp emulation. Where you play an electric in and it emulates the tone and timbre of an acoustic guitar. It sounds like a really hard thing to do, but I figured I throw it out there.

4) A Flanger/Phaser pedal would be nice, you could even set it up like the delay/reverb pedal currently is and I wouldn't mind.

how about a kind of choir pedal?

Thank you so much for this stuff. That is one lovely chorus! I made some beautiful glassy Alex Lifeson type sounds today for my strat. Just made my day to have this to play with!

Moseph - The EQ is a bit funky to switch at the moment, but I believe Grymmjack will make it much more easy in the new version, I kind of like the addition of lots of different EQ curves though? hopefully it can be made more easy to select them in v1.5? and the acoustic tone yeh that would be real cool :-) have to look at that?

Mr. Tingle - What do you mean by a choir pedal?

Shane Sanders - Glad you like the chorus, it was fun to build, can wait to let you all check out the new version.

And I think the phase shifter just might be able to be included in the update along with the slowgear (swell fx) will keep on trying :-)

i've used an effect like choir boy that makes a single voice sound like a choir or coral part, it would be good to do something like this to single note playing on the guitar. Great for creating pad type sounds. I believe it is a bit like a chorus with some well thought out harmonies added.

Have never tried anything like that, but now that you mention it! that would be nice to create multi-voice guitar parts.
Will add that to the list :) thanks

Hey Fretted, when will that Phase Distortion Synth be "let go"? :hyper:

It's probably too late for more suggestions now, but I just thought of something that bothers me about most of the existing amp sims.

I think it would be great to have the option to disable mic emulation during tracking. I know mic emulation is important in the mix, but I don't like hearing my amp through a toilet paper tube while I'm trying to jam. That way it would sound more like an amp in the room with me while tracking (still need speaker/cab emulation, though) and mic emulation could be added later during mixdown.

Maybe I'm alone on this, and maybe it can already be done and I haven't stumbled over it yet - just a thought.

By the way, FreeAmp SE works for me now at 44.1K and it does rock!! There's still a few things I like better about the SimulAanalog amps (clean to just breaking up mostly) but I like FreeAmp MUCH better than, say, the POD 2.0 or the like. I love the distortion on FreeAmp and the wah is one of the best digital attempts yet!!

That's a nice idea.
