I sent her a thank you and suggested she use that story in a CDBaby review.Carla wrote:I was listening to this really nice CD on the way to work this morning. I didn’t even FFWD to your song right away, but wanted to hear it in context, like you had said earlier. It’s a really good track and a really good CD. I will set the scene….about half of my drive is in the dark and by the time your song came on, there was a very colorful sunrise starting to appear. Your track and the one after it, Paradise, were fitting for a bright sunrise. Moments later, the songs were over and the colors were gone. I got as far as #12, I think that one is Mighty Time, and I liked that one too. I’m looking forward to the drive home. That was a good thing you all did and – like you said – very professionally done.

I just got off the phone with my mother...Alex, she asked if I sent a copy to Rob....I told her how it was left and she said go now, I really suggest you sending this cd too him...I will do right away...

btw it's all she's listened to since getting it, she really likes the whole thing...my mother has never been very excitd about my music...and we're talking since like 1974...I can honestly count on one hand the amount of real compliments I have gotten from her...even at 46 I still like making my mom and dad proud.

Post haste my friend! Let us all know what he has to say about it tooHink wrote:I just got off the phone with my mother...Alex, she asked if I sent a copy to Rob....I told her how it was left and she said go now, I really suggest you sending this cd too him...I will do right away...
I am hoping to have some most excellent news regarding a couple of the big trade mags... we'll see
In addition, another rather famous bloke known and loved by many will be taking up our cause soonly as well. Stand by for the details in the Katrina CD thread...
Ta me mates for the goodly words. Proud of our baby and proud to have worked with you all.
You™, thanks man, and let's not forget your excellent song that you also gave up a CD spot for
Blackwater
...as well as TOTC's and xRAVENx's wonderful songs.
I'd like to add that there are always 'peaks and troughs' in any sales cycle, and we haven't seen our peak yet. We're still putting the word out and we'll catch a wave of recognition soon enough.
We knew going in that we weren't going to see massive sales, but we all accomplished a couple of good things. We have now done two charity compilation CDs via KVR and our knowledge has grown, so better prepared for next time. And even if we don't sell another set, we'll still be way ahead and can be proud we did indeed make enough to donate beyond just producing the CD.
Regardless, we'll sell more yet and everything we sell from here on in is icing for sure.
Again, well done me friends. Bravo!
Ch33rs,
Alex

I'm glad I found this thread because just recently I decided to finally listen to the Chrysalid discs that I pre-ordered just on principal alone.
Really, really good stuff but seeing as how Disc 1 just got it's first real listen the other day it's too soon for me to start doing shout-outs.
