samplitude users: do you use any other wave editors?

I've owned Samplitude for years, I think it's a great program for mixing and burning. I have Samplitude Studio 6.

I've always thought that Samplitude wasn't the greatest at pure wave editing. Maybe Adobe Audition or Sound Forge are better at this stuff.

What do other Samplitude users do? Do you use it in conjunction with another wave editor? Do the newer versions of Samplitude (7 or 8) improve on wave editing?

thanks

I've been a Samp user for years, myself. I find Samp's onboard wave editing to be quite good and have never felt the need to use anything else. I can't comment, however, on the newer versions, perhaps someone else can illuminate.

I bought Sam6 Master for $50 for wave editing and to have an upgrade path to 8 in case. I was very used to SoundForge 4.5 so getting around Sam was a little more of a learning curve. Granted I'm not an extensive wave editor, so I probably don't use most advanced features that other wave editors do.

All in all, I like 6 Master. The upgrade to 8 Master is $200, the same price as SF8. I am contemplating what I'll do. I've briefly played around with the Sam 8 demo. I may just upgrade to 8 Professional for mixing as I'm not completelty please with Sonar 4's mixing features.

Samplitude 8.21 is great as a wav editor. You can edit in virtual (non-destructive) mode and fly-out test-edits while mixing or mastering, and/or also edit in destructive mode.

I don't use any other app. for wave editing.

Don't ask me, I just play here.

In Samplitude, I think the graphics for wav editing are pretty poor really. I much prefer CEP Adobe Audition in this respect.

I was also under the impression that other editors provide more wav level editing. I use Samp for removing clicks, it's fine for that.
