Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on what the bestt BASS Ampsim Plugin going is thus far. The only ones I've seen always seem like afterthoughts in Guitar Ampsim Plugs. Any that SPECIALISE?

FrettedSynth has two bass amps here: http://207.218.248.76/~fretted/ampsims.html#ampsims
I haven't used them much yet (still getting my rig together VST wise and I've been stuck on guitar and drums and keys so far) but what little I have messed with them sounds promising!

Ampeg SVX from IK Multimedia may be interesting. Too bad it won't offer all the variety of AT2, while having the same price tag.

I wholeheartedly recommend this method. Instead of RubyTube, try using Blockfish as a "preamp" with various levels of compression and tweaks of the saturation knob.

Yeah, I've had good results with blockfish and some impulse responses of some "harder sounding" cabs, like metal coned 10"

Kilroy seemed to be on to something good with his bass amp (as well as his amazingly realistic reverb), but who knows if we'll ever see those as VST plug-ins. Here's to hoping though.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

I really, really rate Trash for bass. It's great for guitar too, although I tend to use it for strange guitar sounds rather than realistic amps-simulation.

On bass though it's absolutely killer.
