Sequencing with multi-sample, muti-articulated instruments

I'm sure I'm probably one of the few using a hardware sampler (Akai Z4), but I'm hoping to get some general suggestions for sequencing with multi-articulated, multi-sample instruments. The next time I use a multi-sample library on a project will be my first.

My problem is that I'm not sure how to set things up. Ideally, I want to have all or most of the articulations available on one MIDI channel while I'm squencing. But some instrments, especially horns and strings have 6 or more articulations covering 2-3 octaves each. I thought about transposing the different articualtions up and down the keyboard, but I would still run out of room.

How do you all set up these types of instruments when sequencing?

Thanks Splat. I remember reading about that in the product description, but it was only for the gigasampler version. I have Akai S5000 and S1000 versions, which, to my understanding, aren't set up for keyswitching.

Would you know if that's something I can set up on an Akai Z4? Or would program changes be in order?

But that sounds a bit different than what I was thinking. To clarify, I was initially thinking about laying all articulations for an "instrument" out side by side, in one program, utilizing the entire range of the keyboard.

If someone could lend some guidance in setting up either of the above, or provide an alternative, I'd appreciate it.
