It is definetly built by MUTools. CMusic 1.0.2 by the looks of it.
So CMUSIC *is* Luna...

Just got CM99 today and CMUSIC is some sort of version of Luna. It looks like they will have an energyCM (step Sequencer) next month as well.

Very interesting, especially since LUNA isn't quite out of beta yet. How do the limitations of the new CMusic compare to those of LUNA free?

Good question...I cannot find any information about the specs of the free Luna version to make a comparision.
This is from the Mutools site...
"There will also be LUNA Free, a limited but fully functional and useful alternative! (details about the differences between the Unlimited and the Free version coming one of these days)"

Computer Muzys was a cut down version of Muzys 2.xx (so had none of the features in Muzys 3.14, like MuZynth). It had a fixed number of mixer channels (eight, plus eight aux, plus eight outs, IIRC). It supported five VST instruments. It only supported Muon DS-404 as multi-channel. There were some other restrictions, too, but I don't remember them clearly.
LUNA Free -- which may not be what Computer Music ship: we don't know -- currently supports:
* Maximum 4 VST Instruments
* VSTIs are single-channel
* Only 1 Audio Stream Mixer Strip
* Maximum 2 Send Mixer Strips
