trying out shortcircuit free. i feel pretty stupid, but i can't get a single sound out of it. i've loaded up samples, set their ranges in the group editor and everything, and the little light is blinking when i hit my keyboard... but nothing comes out. tried it in tracktion and ext. is there a big "on" button right in front of my eyes or something?

I could only get it to work with Akai samples, no sound with Wav samples. Don't know why, I don't know what type of samples you were using

I found shortcircuit free confusing to start whith. Try loading a preset into it, it accepts a few different ones - that might make it more clearer.

No problems for me either. Using wavs and sf2.

Have you been able to import soundfonts and then save them as shortcircuit presets? I've tried this and the folder which should have wavs in is always empty.zeoy wrote:No problems for me either. Using wavs and sf2.

for some reason, some wavs i load up won't play. don't know why. anyway, it appears to just be certain ones. must be something about them.

probably won't be helpful to anyone, but i think i figured out why some samples wouldnt load in shortcircuit. i'm using a japanese version of winxp, and it seems that shortcircuit can't load wavs stored in folders with japanese names. i've had this before with other software, too.

Unicode problems - nothing new. One should always be aware of them when using other Windows than English. I have some experience with Chinese Windows... gosh

Right-click in the "browser"-area, choose "New Group", then right-click on the sample you want to put in the group, select "send to" and choose the group.
