I don't mind waiting for the box version if I have to, as long as it will only be 8-10 weeks. I may go for the download, but my cubase key is bent and it probably won't last forever.

Funny, that is the exact reason why I was counting on the dongle, too! Mine is not bent, but despite babying it, I've had to use tape to keep it together. The damn key just started to split!

MickGael,

Preorder and free upgrade is two different things. You've been mixing them up in several posts now

. Even if you purchased AT1 just to get AT2 free, you haven't preordered AT2

You bought AT1, and will get AT2 for free. Now IK has decided to make it available as a download instead of shipping it out to everyone whos entitled to it. If you already have a syncrosoft dongle, you can get AT2 up&running much earlier than if it would've been shipped. If not, you can either wait for a physical shipment of the dongle, or get one yourself.
Would it have been better if they didnt provide the free AT2 as download? Then all customers would have to wait longer.

We who have preordered the AT2 have to wait for physical shipment, no download option, you dont. It's a choice you've made. I really cant see why your so upset with this.

First of all, I am far from being alone in my anger with the way this whole thing has been handled. Just throw a stone and you'll hit someone else who has been soured by this.

Secondly, although I was genuinely grateful for the crossgrade price incentive, let's be clear: the way IK was marketing AT2 was by blurring the distinction between upgrade and preorder.

of course i'm nagging/bitching/moaning/whining etc etc....because...

it's all principle at this point. IK and esoundz pushed the hell out of the free AT1 to AT2 upgrade. many people bought AT1 again (myself included) as soon as this deal was announced. i didn't buy AT1 again to run two different licenses, but strictly to get that free AT2 upgrade.

then of course there was the delay from hell on the release after annoucing this date and that. after all that waiting, those of us that bought for the free upgrade find out we have to wait another 8-10 weeks to have it totally free, but you can get it now if you spend a couple more dollars?? that sucks.

i'm not arguing with you or anything, just justifying my pissyness toward the situation.

thanks to Jason at IK in the US for the update too.
