Amplitube - no sustain

hi
i have a question about Amplitube.Does the input(guitar) need a pre-amp? I find that there is allmost no sustain when i play a note/chord.It just sounds very dry and machine-like , especially the distorted presets.
The sound/signal dies down allmost instantly, unless there is another pick/attack.
thanks

the gate is in the middle sort of.
setup used:P4 3.0Ghz/1 gig RAM/ Delta1010LT/ cubase SX3.
does the guitar cable lenght have anything to do with the signal power going into Amplitube?
I also wondered if sustain(the signal dying down) has to do with the sample rate picked on the soundcard..
thanks

Nah, just use a signal as clean and hot as possible and disable the f**kin' Gate on Amplitube. There you will get your sustain back.
Do you use a mixer in front of the Delta 1010LT? I have the same card and my Guitar signal is going:
"Gtr->D.I.->Mixer->Bal.Out->Delta 1010LT Bal.In (1/2)".
This way I have a quite good signal for whatever AmpSim I want to use.
Hope this helps

you definitely need a pre-amp or DI if your soundcard has only line level inputs (mic inputs dont help either). An audiobuddy (M-audio) is very cheap but does the work perfectly for me.simc6440 wrote:hi

I think this goes in the Effects forum. (see how wany KVRians it takes to screw in a light bulb thread - just doing my part!)
