As the owner of 2 Pulsar II cards I can definitely say I am looking forward to these. Finally some decent amp-sims for this platform.
You can get second-hand cards quite cheaply on eBay.
I think the decition of modelling the Recto in tube-rectifier mode was odd though :/. I don't see how it can be real edgy that way. Maybe if you run the master real low. Time will show.

And my initial impression is that the Creamware Lexicon has more clarity and depth...more of that real Lex chutzpa.aMUSEd wrote:The only product close to a port of a Creamware product I know of is IK's CSR Reverb.

The so called "Midiworks one" that everyone claims to have heard is nothing more than posted MP3 samples. There is currently NO "Midiworks one." There is no way to truly know if you really heard Midiwork's software or a clever copy of something else, until it becomes a true commercial commodity, and not two-year-old vaporware. I hate to say it, but it's true. I would like to see it being a reality, but currently, it just isn't....and sadly enough, Midiwork's track record doesn't look too hopeful for it getting released anytime soon. (I know, I know.... We've all been promised......... )akisd28 wrote:Midiworks' one sounds much better to me.Melodioso wrote:is that the amp sim from Midiworks?

P.S. Flame me if you like, but few will argue with me over Midiwork's track record over the last two years. I wish I was wrong/hope I'm going to be wrong soon.

Oh, I notice that others have already said what I said in far fewer words.

I actually agree , I Have posted a few times I think Midiworks amp sim is a fake!!! SInce there is no rightful reason not to release something 2 YEARS after he said it was ready, NOw he says it has aproblem in a host during a "certain" command,, whatver dude, I dont care anymore.. And I almost did care, since I hate most amp sims, but I was rooting for the little guy, you know, but... who cares anyway, he brought it on himself..

Guys, I haven't been involved with Midiworks in any way - I just liked some samples I heard in the past, which also sounded better to me than the Dynatube ones. That doesn't mean it can't be vapourware indeed.
I'm just not impressed with these ones.

OH yeah the samples were damn fine, Maybe there is a problem that take 2 years to fix, ALl I know is he lost a TON of money, and I know it "aint" abou tthe money,, but when you get to be a few years older, Im only 27, but I have learned that in the music business you ,make NO MONEY, so when you can make some cash,, you do it. When I was younger and was naive I didnt care what we made on a show, as long as we played, now I aint doing it for free, or missing an oppurtunity to make money with this. Otherwise it really is just a real expenisive addiction. MAybe he hasnt learned it yet,
P.S DOes anyone see the clever mistake I made in the word expenisive.??

I understand, and I hope you don't think I was flaming you. It wasn't my intention. I've decided to not put up with the Midiworks hype anymore. Anytime I see Midiworks' amp mentioned, I try to make sure that it is made clear that this is nothing more than vaporware and hype (this, at this time, cannot be debated). Until I see an actual product release and I read respected KVRers posted reviews, it will remain (to me) vaporware and hype. At this point, if it ever was released, I'd be scared to buy it from him, because if a bug was found in it, it may be years before it gets fixed. Midiworks has lost all credibility with me as far as his business is concerned.akisd28 wrote:Guys, I haven't been involved with Midiworks in any way - I just liked some samples I heard in the past, which also sounded better to me than the Dynatube ones. I am not angry, nor do I hate Midiworks. I don't have anything against him. I'm just tired of his hype over a product that (as far as I'm concerned) right now doesn't exist. Hype sucks.
Personally, I'll get flamed bad for saying this, but it is my personal belief that everyone here that is tired of vaporware and hype ought to not put up with it anymore.
Ah crap! I'm ranting. There is no reason for me to rant. I really DO hope Midiworks' product comes out. I just don't want to hear another word from him about his product until it does.
Say "NO!" to excuses!

P.S. I'm kinda hoping Midiworks reads this and gets the hint.

Midiworks plug is for real.
I was a skeptic too until he released the XmasTube plug.
I am NOT surprised that he did not release the final version in 2 years.
If it took IK 2 years to create AT2 how many years will it take for the little guy?
Especially since the little guy has big dreams and wants to charge $250 for his creation.
As he admitted last week his plug "is ready" but it "crashes" the host.
He will have many more "little problems" that will take a long time to iron out.
My prediction is that it will be a very long time before his plug will be really ready but that doesn't mean it's not for real.
