Oh man - where is Dimitar when you need him?TeleJuan wrote:I'm no metal player either so I'm not sure how I could help there. But how about some good metal players record a riff and post it here unprocessed? I'll happily run through AT2 presets and post the demos here...

Now THAT would make for a real lame excuse!!!!prizo wrote:a big problem with the demo samples is that the player obviously has ZERO idea how to play metal.Sidhu wrote:din like what i heard on the AT website....

Nice; this is the thread I'll be watching for the next few days. High gain tones is where most amp sims fail, and miserably at that. Bring it!

Hey Folks,
Ok, here ya go. I'm not a metal player, but I did my level best:
http://www.danieljslewis.com/at2/
What you'll hear is the unprocessed riff, then the same riff with the following stock "Heavy metal" presets in the order you hear them:
1. Unprocessed
2. All Solid State
3. DualAmp Rhythm
4. DualAmp PowrChrds
5. MegaGain 2
6. MegaGain Detune
7. Stereo Heavy 1
8. Phazey Superdrive
I used a lovely vintage Fender Elite DI Strat through a Trident S40

How about some unprocessed drop-Ab?
Double tracked. You would need to separate L&R if it can't do stereo.

2 things drop A flat!!! COme on man thats just ridiculous. THere is nop reason a guitar should be that low, even a 7 string,, Takes all the punch and heaviness out.
ANd secondly why are all you guys who AREN'T or can't play metal wanting HI-Gain sounds? If you can't play metal than what do you want it for?

Funny enough, I want the high gain sounds, and I don't even play guitar, let alone metal.Killvehicle wrote:ANd secondly why are all you guys who AREN'T or can't play metal wanting HI-Gain sounds? If you can't play metal than what do you want it for?
Thanks for the demo, Mick, very useful.

Using things in ways they weren't intended (or expected) to be used is part of the fun of software music tools. Hi-gain isn't the exclusive province of metal. :-)
I've been feeding AT2 all kinds of signals. Some are guitars, some are nothing like guitar. Not all are improved by amp sim processing, but I'm getting lots of positive surprises.

I'm not guitarist and no expert at all but I've tried pretty much every amp sim out there and nothing comes even close this AT2. It sounds awesome!

That maybe good but it sound unnatural for me !
To far from a guitar amp!
Sound like a cheap distortion stomp box with a headphone plug in it !!!
I have better result with SimulAnalog (Boss SD-1 to Marshall JCM900 all gains up)
My opinion!
