I hear ya! The presets don't do justice to AT2 but if you start playing around with it a little you realize it's simply amazing. I have never got tones so "CD-like", if that makes any sense and so quick..... I'm gonna get some coffee too :?

After playing an hour and a half in Amplitube 2 with the guitar presets, I found a nice Bass sound to record with last night. The sound in Amplitube 2 is so much more robust than Amplitube 1 even the samples on IK's website don't do this software package justice. :D

The only thing that I found lacking in the presets were accoustic guitar settings. AT1 had a few good ones. I'm hoping Squids (if he's reading this) will throw a few of this catagory into the promised Esoundz freebie presets download.

Man--I'm on my 2nd cup this morning and still not getting my head into work. Got a few things I want to try with AT2 tonight. Those heavy metal leads are fun to play around with. Also got more REX files to demo from ProFiles. It's going to be a busy weekend. :tu:

By the way, the way the amp "breaks" when you go from soft to hard playing is unbelievable! To me, that's the reason why AT2 is truly groundbreaking.

Completely with you on that one. Very, well, 'amp' like.
Haven't had time to build my own rig yet, just run through the presets (and a pot of coffee), very impressive so far.

Hi, I was fortante enough to be able to design some presets in AT 2 and it was fun to have all that power at your fingers. A few tips for preset creating I found here below.

If you want a super clean chimey sound a cool thing I have done is setup a nice normal fenderish sound and then choose the 3 on the matrix at the top, this will add the 2nd cabinet to your setup. Now you can experiment with different cabs, mics, OR you can do what I did bypass the 2nd cab so you are getting a direct signal. This will give your clean sound alittle more pop because it doesnt have the cabinet on the 2nd one.

Also, one major thing you can do on any sound if you want to change it is just change the power amp section.. sometimes this all it takes to really make a sound come alive.

Hope this helps!

it does! Thanks so much for those tips. Truth is, flexibility is so great it's almost overwhelming and you don't where to start.... that's a good problem to have though...

I am simply amazed too. I couldn't believe that just selecting the Modern Tube Lead head and slapping a compressor pedal on there gave me a GREAT high gain sound. At least with my LP. The Strat didn't sound as good for high gain, but I was able to get some really nice blues sounds out of AT2 with the Strat. It's great that I can get great tone with minimal effort. :)

As everyone else, I am COMPLETELY lacking sleep today do to this damn plug-in! LOL
