yup.... agreedMeffy wrote:The idea is that everyone was going to have to wait our turns in line, but Squids kept at IK to allow a downloadable version for those who have a key already, and they relented. If enough of us decide to forego getting an extra dongle, it'll speed things up for the rest of y'all too. Two birds, one stone. For those who don't already have a key and don't want to buy one, the situation's no worse than it was before, and ought to be a little better because fewer keys will have to be shipped.
The pyramiding delays, that was nightmarish, yes. But the downloadable version if you have (or choose to buy) your own key... that seems like a winning decision to me.

I'm using 2 keys on my system, one for Steinberg software, one for IK Multimedia software and Korg software (Blue and RED). So far I also have Black (Korg key) and extra Steinberg (Blue key) in my collection just weiting to be pluged into something. I wonder if I should request another Red key for my collection?

Where did I use the word Stupid? Now that it has been explained to me it does make sense. But since I don't do dongles or keys it's a moot point. Besides Amplicrude 1 sounded like cats fighting to me so I have no interest in AT2 ( Hardware is still superior for guitar processing in my opinion).multree wrote:you can go to a store near you and buy one for about €17 (that's what I paid) if you don't wanna wait.... and as it's been stated many people already have a syncrosoft key...Teksonik wrote:Is it my imagination or does IK really suck as a business? Don't own anything from them but I sure see a lot of threads like this one. So you can download the product right away but wait 8-10 for a key to use the software? Is that correct?
so what's stupid about letting people download the software right away?

See that's the point I've been trying to make in other threads. When the Software Industry gets together (at ohhh say Messe or Namm) and develops an Industry Standard Copy Protection Scheme where ONE dongle works for ALL music software, doesn't use resources, and doesn't cause system instability install/re-install problems then I might support such a copy protection scheme that uses a dongle. And before someone goes there I am 100% anti warez, cracks and pirates. Both my computers are 100% clean. I just don't feel that Honest Loyal Paying Customers should have to suffer with invasive copy protection just because the music software developers are being out-coded by the crackers. If they develop "smater" software than the crackers we wouldn't need a half dozen dongles to run our software. I own dozens of synths and effects and I can't imagine having to dongle each one. What a nightmare and it can only get worse if more companies start using dongles with God forbid their own proprietary scheme.AndrewW wrote:I'm using 2 keys on my system, one for Steinberg software, one for IK Multimedia software and Korg software (Blue and RED). 17 euros/dollars is still about 9 quid, and I got a free upgrade, so I want it free

Same here.17 euros/dollars is still about 9 quid, and I got a free upgrade, so I want it free Razz
I downloaded the installation of AT2 though, and it won't work in DEMO mode. I even have the CSR dongle connected but no go.
AmpliTube 2 must be authorized to work with unrestricted function-
ality. It will run with full features for 10 days (grace period) which
will start when launched for the first time, and revert to demo mode
after. You will need to authorize the product within this time frame
to enable permanent unrestricted functionality.
