I am in the IK Italy office now for a few days. I saw first-hand that all of the upgrades are being put into the user areas of AT1 users. So, have fun! There's still thousands so it could take a day or two before you have it in your area. Or maybe even right now! Go look.

I have ordeed the boxed version with CSR. Am I right in assuming that I cannot use the download version?

Gordon

Gordon,

If you qualify for the free upgrade AND you ordered the boxed version you have 2 licenses my friend! Go buy a dongle and sell your boxed version!
No. If I do dl the online version and use my Philharmonik key then I will not actibvate the boxed SN and keep the additional key as a backup in teh event that my key starts to become beatup then I will transfer to the new one.

It was too to wait knowing that the dl vesrion was there so I downloaded and activated that one.

Cheers,
Gordon

Gordon,

I have had problems registering Amplitube 2 with my Philharmonik key. I am currently waiting to hear back from IK support.

I installed it on my CSR key and had no issue at all. It was a smooth installation

I wonder if it has to do with what version of the Syncrosoft software I originally used when I registered Philharmonik.

I think I am going to buy a 7 port powered USB Hub and just use 2 keys (1 for Philhatmonik and 1 for Amplitibe 2).

I started to think about it. You are really up the creek if your one dongle with all your software licenses dies, or worst yet gets lost or stolen.

I holding my breath hoping this works out. I want to buy the IK/Ampeg SVX software when it comes out. But I hate these licensing hassels.

FWIW, I installed onto my CSR key and it works fine. To say that installation is 'smooth' is another matter. The Syncrosoft license transfer protocol doesn't appear in either of the installation manuals with a correct step-by-step procedure. And since I actually read the manuals and followed their instructions, it was a bit confusing. But, bottom line, it ultimately works.

I do have to say that the challenge/response coupled with the dongle seems like a bit of overkill. I kept waiting for a screen to pop up asking for a digital blood sample... :hihi:

But this is a minor quibble--I haven't had a lot of time to work with it yet, but from the hour or so I spent noodling around, I can definitely say that this program rocks! Nice clean sound--very little noise, even with the hi-gain and distortion FX--and very true to life emulations. A noticable improvement over AT1(and I really like AT1).

Can anyone confirm a Stand-alone mode? If there is one, I couldn't figure out how to fire it up. Do you still need to use a wrapper like AT1?

Thanks

Squids,

Is AT2 optimized for Protools 7? My CPU is taking a beating, need to keep my buffer at least at 256 samples or the sound cuts out on the larger rigs and that's with no other plug-ins on the session.
I admittedly don't have the latest set up [P4, 3.06GHz HT, 1G Ram]but it's served me well...
...until now.

Thanks
You have to authorize the key for the demo mode to work I believe. I installed AT2 before my key arrived, but it wouldn't work when I put it on a track. I'm pretty sure you need the ikey just to even get to the point where AT2 asks if want to demo it.

I'm having a CPU problem too. I can play fine, and CPU usage for me stays down for the most part, but I get weird spikes that put me in the red in the PT CPU usage meter.

Additionally, sometimes when changing between presets, AT2 will freeze and a loud constant sine wave will eminate through my monitors. I have to either close and re-open the session or close and re-insert AT2 for it to stop. It seems to be connected to the CPU spikes. Have you had that happen, Scott?

Anyway, I'm on an AMD 3700+ with the older 754 socket, WinXP Pro with 1.5 gigs ram.

I know this isn't IK tech support, but I thought I'd add to what Scott posted.

Yes, as far as I know. There's a lot of stuff in AT2 so I think from sound to sound can vary on the CPU usage. You can get more mileage on the CPU by making some adjustments in the preferences though such as turning high resolution off for example. Also dual rig sounds will take up twice the CPU of course. If you switch off the anti-aliasing I believe that could help as well.

I was gonna let everyone know about this too. Last night I was playing with it and getting some pops and 45-50% CPU usage (2GB) with 256 samples. I thought I had to be something wrong and checked the manual (duh!) and found the tip about disabling the oversampling options while tracking and enable them when rendering. Now I get about 10-15% with 128 samples. :band2:

Thanks guys, I'll try the low rez mode.
Vocalvoodoo, sorry man, haven't had any spikes or sine waves. :?
Maybe the low rez idea would help you too.
