I can see his mouth move, but I can't hear a thing. Lucky me.

I will do that as promised. I am still visiting the IK office in Italy. We've had a lot of success with this type of upgrade/ALLgrade on www.esoundz.com because we have a lot of customers who have bought at least something relating to IK (even just an Expansion Tank would qualify for this... which if you think about it you could JUST go and buy an Expansion Tank AND the CSR upgrade/allgrade at the same time and it'd even be LESS than buying the CSR regularFrunobulax wrote:I believe Squids mentioned in another thread that he didn't know how long the crossgrade deal would last, but that he would try and give us a heads-up when it was about to be pulled.
CSR is so good that I really think some of the throw-away negative comments you see here and there in a thread like this are easy to ignore. It really is a great unit to have. I was just in a studio that had Lex 224s and it even compares to something like that at least in terms of the quality and depth. Even if you have a nice convolution reverb, CSR is still a great reverb to add to your set up because not only does it sound different, not only is it way more programmable but it is also lighter on the CPU. In fact, for a high end reverb it may be the most efficient on the CPU that I've seen. I guess that could partially be because of the way they are individual plug-ins for hall or plate or room etc. I don't know. I only know I use it as the default reverb in my Cubase set up as well as my ProTools HD rig. So do a lot of people now, including a lot of respected engineers.
At Frankfurt I was talking to someone who sets Pat Metheny's Mac set up with the gear he wants. I actually got the chance to meet him backstage on his tour (amazing by the way, the whole album played live happens to be one continuous song and sounds amazing). He said that what he was looking for was a really great reverb plug-in like the ones he has in the racks of the studio. I told him about CSR and he couldn't wait for it. So, I think they're going to get one soon and I am curious to see what he thinks. I have a feeling they're going to love it. It's got that bright and open sound as well as the rich ambient texture you'd hear in his well recorded music. Steve Rodby (PMG bass player and co-producer) also was psyched about it.

I would add that it's rather difficult to find *any* impulses that equal the CSR quality. There are some, like the big l960 set from noise vault, but it's not directly comparable because it's nowhere near as flexible, and mostly not quite as "high end". Most impulses tend to sound rather grainy and static after CSR.Squids wrote:Even if you have a nice convolution reverb, CSR is still a great reverb to add to your set up because not only does it sound different, not only is it way more programmable but it is also lighter on the CPU.
I'll hand it to you Squids. You were right about CSR all along. It was just a bit difficult to believe your marketing speak colored commentary, and because of the fact you have tendency to say the same things about every single IK product.

Hey Dave
well when they come from snookeys mouth, they are even easier to ignore. I pretty much had it with his comments lately. I thought trolls got banned from here? guys got 4000 plus posts and most are completely useless. Seen him in other forums today doing the same shite. enough already from you snookey, you are so predictable. (enter mute mode)
CSR sounds great btw, wish i could afford it though

Fair enough. I expect people to take what I say with a grain of salt. It just so happens that I really do like every IK product. They don't make THAT many. Each one is done with care (like AmpliTube 2, Ampeg SVX, CSR) and if it isn't something that has a big appeal to a wide range of musicians they don't do it.Kingston wrote:I would add that it's rather difficult to find *any* impulses that equal the CSR quality. I can't think of an IK product I don't like honestly. I even like the old ones like Groove Maker. It's pretty cool actually even if I wouldn't use it personally. Also, I bought T-Racks years and years ago on the recommendation of Eric Persing. It's been a staple piece in my set up ever since.
Of course, just because SR works very close with IK doesn't mean I don't like products from other plug-in companies that could even be considered competitors to IK. For example, there are certain Waves plug-ins that I really like. The SSL plug-in is hot on my list of must-haves. Native Instruments also has some really great products and Kontakt 2 is one of my favorites. I admire the power of Reaktor as well although I admit that I don't use it much.
So, I really only have time to talk about products I truly like. I say what I say from my POV as an engineer, programmer, producer etc. and people can listen or ignore me. It's their choice. If I have some things in advance of them being out, some people like when I share my experiences with it (like I did with CSR and AT2). I am only glad to hear though that even people who were skeptical come back and say that it is maybe even BETTER than they thought from my "squids-hype" as some people call it.
Of course, we DO also sell it on www.esoundz.com but I don't shove that down anyone's throat. I don't care where you buy it from. I only expect people to buy from esoundz if they like dealing with the people, great customer service, like the good deals and other benefits.

When KVR is a mix of people with a good sense of humor and people who really ARE serious about the tools they use to make music it is at its best. When people make negative unfounded comments just to stir things up it becomes dilluted and frustrating sometimes unfortunately. Luckily Ben did add the "mute me" feature. So if someone is just being negative for sport you can just mute them and get on with the thread. I suppose some people could say that when there are "salesy/commercial" people like me standing on soap boxes it is also compromised as well (although I think it highly depends on the person and what they have to offer content-wise as well as their genuine passion for it vs. spammy shallowness) but... again, the "mute me" feature works in that case too!Radjo wrote:Squids wrote: CSR is so good that I really think some of the throw-away negative comments you see here and there in a thread like this are easy to ignore.

Perhaps Radjo was referring to you trolling around the Manytone forum earlier today?
Time for Ben to purge the rest perhaps. As Mod i have had a few mails from users about your comments lately.snooky wrote:and actually, since posts are purged, I'm closer to 5500-6000 posts
