The Acid 6 problem will certainly be fixed, FXpansion is aware of that one. As to the FL6 one, that's FL's bug, I have no idea whether or not GOL will decide to fix it.

We changed from message-based drag/drop to OLE-based one (it's the same as Windows uses for its own stuff, like the explorer), it's much more powerful (and allows visual feedback as you can see in FL6).
Unfortunately it's not compatible with message-based one, because OLE containers have a higher priority.
So it's not a bug on either side. But if you really want to, you can still support OLE drag/drop, and it'll work with FL.

Are you saying it's not possible for a D&D receive client to support both message-based and OLE methods? Surely not -- for example, Explorer windows support both methods.

not really, they're actually compatible, but OLE has a higher priority. So if your plugin doesn't get the message, it's because there's FL behind that's also an OLE drop container.
So because FL gets the drop, your plugin doesn't. AFAIK it's not possible to tell a VSTi 'here, use this file' (it's possible with FL plugins, though), so we have no way to tell the plugin. We can't fake a drop message, unfortunately.
Otherwise our drag/drop works with other apps that don't support OLE, because they're in a separate mother window.

AL GEE -- the patch for Acid6 is in beta now.
Gol -- Al & I are not talking about drag-receive, but drag-send from the plugin to FL.. in FL5 you could drag a midi-pattern FROM GURU to a midi track in FL; apparently this no longer works with FL6.

Would copy and paste be a decent workaround? I don't use GURU, but do use FL6, seems fairly logical to me though.

Copy and paste won't work -- what would work, though, is to drag the MIDI to a folder in explorer (or the desktop) and from there to FL. Only just thought of that

mmh that's weird, it should work. I can still drag/drop files from other sources, including total commander that's not using OLE (I think), and it works. While dropping onto plugins is a problem with FL6, dropping onto FL still works for everything I use.but drag-send from the plugin to FL.. in FL5 you could drag a midi-pattern FROM GURU to a midi track in FL; apparently this no longer works with FL6.
What doesn't work? The initial drag, or the actual drop? Does it say it's forbidden, or it does nothing?
