I'd put an 1176, a pingpong delay on it, a little Out-of-phase flanger, stereo chorus, a small room (I love Lexicons Guitar Room for this), dial in lot's of upper mids and a high/lowcut.

Still, it depends on the mix... :-)

If you want dynamics, loose the compressor and reduce the distortion.
Keep things simple.

BTW, try a sidechain on that delay, so it doesn't get in the way with the guitar too much.

have no idea what the song this solo will go in sounds like, so i wondered if something like this might fit:

i'm a little afraid it might end up dominating too much, though.

I particularly like when it sounds like the computer has broken! What did you use here?
just good ol' buffer override, which is pretty well-known: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/657.html

other than that, dfx's transverb and a few automated delays and stuff. just messing around.

I'mm not even going to listen to it, I'm just gonna go out on a limb and answer the question by saying "less"...;)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
