This is an area I have yet to explore, but I would like to find a good and flexable library for bass. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd be happy to find out there is a bass collection that is like Prominy LPC, but bass, yet I have not luck finding anything like that. Any thoughts on Hardcore bass? The demos don't reveal much and I'm hoping there are better alternatives. That said, anyone know of a great collection for a wide range of styles? Thanks!

Thanks Rajah!

When I went to the site, my first reaction is that it is a joke, hehe... but it looks interesting.. I'll check out the demo.

Thanks!

I found Hardcore a bit stiff-sounding overall and prone to crashing, hardly use it anymore. Triligoy is king, but for much, much less with incredible flexiblity, there's Manytone Ultimate Bass Kit.

From what I have read, Trilogy is what you are looking for. Of course, LPC is a sample of a single electric guitar, but you wouldn't need the number of articulations for each bass that LPC offers for its single electric guitar.

Check out the demos for Ultimate Bass Kit: http://www.manytone.com/ubk.html

Many different articulations, slapping, picked, muted, muted picked, tapping, etc. All these articulations are interchangeable so a transition between these articulations will not result in a change of bass tone. Read more at the website. :)

If it's something like Prominy's LPC but for bass try this:

http://www.scarbee.com/products/jsf/index.php

Has to be the best sounding jazz bass out there. Lot's of articulations on a per string basis and choice of pickups. Lots of work programming wise but well worth it.

...another vore for Scarbee, if you want to have a very detailed bass (the warwick bass looks nice, too), but keep the requiered programming effort in mind - not everyone likes that. That said, the Broomstick Bass with its style library looks interesting. Btw. what is the difference between Broomstick Bass and the Steinberg Vitual Guitarist? A different approach might be Liquid Bass from Ueberschall - from what I know it contains loops in huge variety of styles which can be adjusted with inbuilt Melodyne plug-in - surely worth a look...
