Anyone using these samples?
I fancy nabbing the Composers Brass collection, as it seems a fair price for a nice brass section. Demos sound alright too.
What do you think about this library?
Cheers,
TB

I've heard really good things about this library.

in my experience they worth every penny. I own all the libs and the timbre is superb. Of course if youre looking for orchestral brass, not pop or jazz.

Please check what player options you get before you buy. I have the Truestrike library. Great library, but it comes with the Hallion player that really sucks (and it needs a dongle).

There are plenty articulations, even for the french horns(their oldest lib).
But especially the horns don't have enough bite and power for some situations.
Of course you can do a bit with eq, but Dan Deans Brass or especially Epic Horns have a lot more power.
All the SAM Sections sound great though, in their own way.

It doesn't come contained in a player. Its a multi-format disk, EXS24/Kontakt/Giga 2.5/Halion.Sepheritoh wrote:Please check what player options you get before you buy. I have the Truestrike library. Great library, but it comes with the Hallion player that really sucks (and it needs a dongle).

Great! Depends on what you got as a sampler, but giga is probably the best bet.Joseph Burrell wrote:It doesn't come contained in a player. BTW, The libraries from Martin is really tops. The brass libraries is probably the best ones I've heard.

Actually, I just had a listen to Epic Horns and this sounds amazing. Think I have found my big brass library...
Judging from the demos, SAM would be good for slow p passages as it has a nice mellow tone. But Im not sure you could get those big cres chords like with the Epic Horns.
And the flutter tongue just seals the deal imo!
