You could always save the samples within the LS .fxb fileAs it currently stands I have a few compositions that are now defunct because I can't remember which specific sample was used for which slot. Save us from our mistakes!

If I was clever enough to realise that reorganising my samples folder would have messed up Liveslice like this then I would have done it!
Unfortunately I am stupid sometimes.

spuddle - that's a very reasonable FR - essential functionality in any tool that uses samples. Guaranteed to be in the next update.

spuddle - if you didn't rename your files then you are in for a treat. LiveSlice now performs an in-depth scan of both specified sample folders and fixes moved files automatically.
I haven't implemented a more advanced search for renamed files. It would be a lot slower, as I'd have to scan through all files, compare file sizes and math file names, but still I imagine it would be very useful - I tend to rename my loops sometimes, appending stuff like bpm, quality, number of loops.
For now i'll just pop up a manual browse dialog for each renamed file.

New update is working fine on my machine, every key combination is working as expected. I have even found that 'space' key is randomization!
I have just small issues with new version:
First, how can I trigger all slices! It doesen't seems to work. I think maybe old beta solution is quite good for this: make one midi channel for just loop preset triggers, and make one (or even 15 others) to play individual slices.
If you select multiple events with ctrl+left click combination when editing parameters, value jumps on position you clicked. It is ok when you work on parameters to fast set value, but when you are working on selection, you have to first deselect all parameters. Maybe solution is to disable parameter change when you ctrl+left click.
Also, option to deselect parameter when you press it's key again to make editing more faster.
And I have stupid idea:
Could you make slice lock button, just like in arranger. I had some realy twisted loops that needed time to chop them properly, but I accidently pressed sensitivity and every little tweak I have done wanished just in a second. I know there is undo now, but it can save me from heart attack.

I was able to do a quick test on my internet computer. I'll test on my main laptop when i get home.
A few requests:
1) Use arrow keys to select tracks in an arrangement (track highlights when selected) and now use of keys 1-0 can be utilized for parameter adjustments. This way i can avoid using the mouse to select tracks
2) Some way to exit paramater adjustment mode with a key shortcut.
3) If you say, hold ALT while using arrow keys to adjust parameters, it operates in Lock mode
That's it for now. Nice update Ohm!!

Wow that sounds fantastic, even you just considering an 'intelligent' browser to hunt down renamed samples just shows how far ahead of the competition you are when it comes to innovation.ohm wrote:spuddle - if you didn't rename your files then you are in for a treat. Really looking forwards to this update

nice one ohm! great new features.
i found some minor glitches, though:
1. when changing a parameter, lifting the LMB and clicking the same event again, the highlighting and parameter display doesn't work anymore unless you click again.
i think it should display on every mouse-down and stop displaying on mouse-up.
2. using the shortcuts for selecting the parameters has some redraw issues on the additional options which causes something like this

this doesn't happen when selecting the parameters with the mouse.
3. i selected four events from track one using ctrl+shift+LMB and pasted them to track two. but one event was missing.

4. after that i used ctrl+x to cut and then ctrl+v paste and the events were inserted shifted like this

also i think it would be better if the source events would be unselected on pasting to avoid confusion.
btw i could send you the file i used if you need to analyze it.
still, great update so far, seems to run stable (just did a quick run in eXT for now) and the undo is just great!

scuzz:
(1) - about a week, depending on the number of weird bugs turning up
(2) - version 1.5 I'm afraid or (1) would be postponed

Is there a beta page or something? Or is it better to wait for the official update release?

no beta page, if you promise to be a nice beta tester, test the betas and give some feedback, you can give me your email (the one used for registering) and I'll add you to the beta list. It would be interesting to see if the update will in fact solve your missing files problem.spuddle wrote:Is there a beta page or something? Or is it better to wait for the official update release?

ups, forgot to mention one thing connected to this
and now that you implemted cut and paste of events i got a FR
.. could it be done to drag slices on LMB from one track to another, which internally would be cut and paste? right now slices can only be dragged horizontal in one track.
right now an event stays highlighted after changing a parameter as i already said, when i then change to another parameter, there the event stays highlighted as well and turns the value display off as soon as i change the new parameter of that event.R.A.W. wrote:1. when changing a parameter, lifting the LMB and clicking the same event again, the highlighting and parameter display doesn't work anymore unless you click again.
