Hey I think I read somebody able to rip sounds from online flash apps
What program does this? ...would I have to download the flash as a .swf first?

!!: the following is for educational purposes only :!!
a company called Sothink makes an app that can de-compile a .swf file. what a person would need to do, is empty his/her temporary internet files folder, then visit the site that has the flash content. once all content has been loaded, close browser, go to internet files folder and retrieve all .swf files, and open them up with the Sothink app.
now, for the other bit: people work very hard on this stuff. i am a flash developer, and i can tell you it takes a hell of a lot of work for some of this stuff, and although i personally don't reall care if people steal my source (honestly, i don't give a crap; i've already been paid, and maybe it's just a student trying to learn from me which is cool) most people aren't communists like me
If you have no moral issue with messing around with other peoples source without permission, then you MAY care about this: you have no idea what the original source of the sounds you want to get at is; they could be copyrighted works from a sample CD. fine, probably won't get caught, right? But what if the developer is also a sound designer and musician like me? I make all my own sounds for my flash stuff, so if somebody ripped them and used them and i heard it, i would know what they did. I am a little more protective of my music/sound design, although i probably still wouldn't care that much, but some might care ALOT, and you could end up in hot water.
Just food for thought.
I don't pretend to know what your motives are.
cheers

You don't have to rip the swf's.. Just use a sound-recording program like the free Audacity, and set your recording input as "Main out" or whatever the main mixout is called in your Sound mixer of your PC..
I'm a Jugga Nut!

Yep thanks for that Z3R0T0N1N, that maybe the app I'm looking for... as for ripping other peoples sounds without permission... umm, well I'm just after some of those swooshes and button click noises, maybe some from the prodigy site too lol but I'm not into using other peoples loops say or compositions so much.
safeaim: Yep I could do that but I thought it would be easier with an app as I wouldn't have to cut it in a wave editor plus it would be the original file.
