Does anyone know of a utility that can boost the overall volume of a pc soundcard.
I am running some vdj software and the volume on the second soundcard is way to low, even when I pump up the max windows settings ...especially when I am trying to cue in a loud club....I also dont fancy having to lug an external powered amp!
Thanks for your help..

If you are driving the soundcard with a normal compressed commercial mix, then it will be peaking at 0dB. If the analog output of your soundcard is still too weak, there is absolutely nothing digital that can make it any louder. Apart from smashing it further with a limiter to increase the percieved loudness.
You might have a faulty card, or you might even have some digital mixer software attenuating the output, which would be silly. But check.
A consumer soundcard should output an unbalanced -10dB signal, similar to a CD player. Get a decent soundcard with balanced +4dB outputs, ideally.
Edit: if it is just for headphones, the headphone amp is what you need. Or get a USB or Firewire interface that has a good headphone amp built in.
