Is this library up to much?
Im researching orch libraries at the moment, and this ones seems to really good value. The Gold edition is on offer right now (actually, for a while if memory serves!), but I wanted to get some opinions before I look at it seriously.
Iv used the VSL standard library and liked it alot. But your talking £660 for just the stings! How does this library compared to the EWLQ Gold?
Cheers guys!

VSL is a more flexible string orchestra with more articualtions while GOLD is a Hollywood large sounding orchestra with prepanning of instruments and release tails. It sounds beautiful of course. But you really would want more articulations for a lot of things. For 600 bucks Gold is great deal! Then Later upgrade to Pro XP version so you have everything Platinum had but the Mic choices. VSL VI is the best of all though!
just my two cents^_*
for strings I think Sonic Implants rules them all.

StrangeCat; How do the articulations compare to IK Multimedia's Miroslav Philharmonik offering?

VSL is great. The sounds are superb, if a little dry (needs a nice IR reverb). Not simple to use though, and demanding on the computer.
That said, I do like the look of these new VSL instruments. Might be worth upgrading the old boy for!
I shall have to find some demos of EW cuz at that price I dont think I can pass.

Sounds like a nice combo, but maybe a little cost prohibitive just at the moment. Id like to get something complete to begin with then build upon it as money permits.
Initially I thought GPO was a good idea. But now Im thinking that EW is probably the way to go. For £300 (or there abouts) this sounds like a very good and versatile library.
