Didn't see your original post, but my thoughts exactly. Will the so-call "group" comps take care of this?soma wrote:[edit] I've calmed down a little.. I was very pissed.jorgen wrote:insert and sends are not in the main window
What IS in the main mixer then? What effects are in the main window? Do you have to open the main window to add them there?
I thought the whole idea behind XT2 was that everything would be in the mixer AND the main window.

Some had the impression that an insert would show up as an effect compenent in the main window, sends as well. Or that it wasn't based on Normal mixer vanilla sequencer ideals, but included them as functions of the main sequencer for those used to vanilla sequencers but in reality existed entirely in the main window. That was my dream anyways. But whatever, im still exited. I still don't get sends workings though.jorgen wrote:Im not sure what you mean?I thought the whole idea behind XT2 was that everything would be in the mixer AND the main window.

The main window doesnt have inserts, and it doesnt make sense either. The main window is modular, it has comps only, and you can chain them anyway you like.
Inserts, sends and group channels is an addition to the modular environment as an option to work without the "cables" or you can do both.
The combination kicks ass

Someone just smack me if I didn't read it correctly... so does this mean in the sequencer, if i go to midi channel, right click, add a vst, it will add the vst in the main window as a module now?

yes, but it doesnt mean you have to use the main window. you can do all routing in sequencer and main mixer

though I have to ask... will we be able to dock inserts? I sorely miss the ability to do this...
