I cannot get CSR to run on my Logic 7.2/OSX 10.4.6 setup.
Here's what happens:
1. I load the plug.
2. It does nothing for 20 seconds (the dongle flashes a lot).
3. The top left of the plugin windows pops up.
4. Logic crashes. Every... time...
Any ideas? I've downloaded the latest Syncrosoft drivers, etc.
BTW, I've left lots of messages with IK and Sonic Reality. Nobody has answered a phone in two days. And nobody has responded to emails.
I'm seriously thinking of changing to Arts Acoustic.

I posted this question under effects first, but thought afterwards that this might be a better forum.

I understand as well. I recently got my shiny box of CSR Crossgrade
But before I even open the envelope that contains the disc and iLok Ihave some questions; I don't even know what the disc and key look like. If these questions are not answered to my satisfaction I want to be able to sell this to someone without ANY problems. I tried calling yesterday AND today and got an aswering machine; I left a message yesterday. Generally when I spend this type of money on software, or anything for that matter, I really want access to the company. I haven't tried email yet so I'm not totally disturbed by all this.
I can understand how they may have as warm of calls/customers but still.
And I did demo AA and thought it was nice. That might make 2 of us switching.

Elijah from eSoundz got back to me and is eager to help me out. Since he isn't an IK tech, he can't solve the problem, but he is doing his best to help out.
Again, as I said before, at least the eSoundz people are very polite, etc. That's a real plus.

Call Arts and see how long it takes to get help from them...then decide who will give you the best customer service.I'm seriously thinking of changing to Arts Acoustic.
That's what I would do.
I'm sure they both sound great..they better for that kind of money.
Does Arts want a dongle?

I would bet AA is a smaller developer. Plus I feel confident that something would get answered in the AA forum here. I agree, for the dough I need some peace of mind.riley4reason wrote:Call Arts and see how long it takes to get help from them...then decide who will give you the best customer service.I'm seriously thinking of changing to Arts Acoustic.

I don't think AA needs a dongle, the demo didn't.

They called me back in 16 hours last week....which I thought was pretty good.
Then they pissed me off, but I won't open that can.

Elijah from eSoundz got in touch with me again this morning. I can say this: they take customer satisfaction very, very seriously. I would never hestitate to buy software through these people. A+
I'll report back when my technical issue gets resolved by IK.

Try this while you wait, if you haven't already. Move the Dongle to a new USB port directly on your DAW, not via a hub. If it's on a front USB port, move it to one of the back ones. Then start the driver install and authentication from the begining. I did this once with Cubase and Synchrosoft and suddenly everything started working.
Good luck,

Hi riley,
cheers,

Mustn't the driver (= synchrosoft license control center software) installation be done with the iKey/dongle being unplugged? Just in case to avoid even more hassles.riley4reason wrote:Then start the driver install and authentication from the begining. I think you're right, it's been a while since I had to do this but I think you are right, you need that loaded so it can be found when you plug in the dongle.LiteOn wrote:Hi riley,Mustn't the driver (= synchrosoft license control center software) installation be done with the iKey/dongle being unplugged? In fact, as I reflect on what I went through, it took several complete installs and un-installs before I ever got anything to work.riley4reason wrote:I think you're right, it's been a while since I had to do this but I think you are right, you need that loaded so it can be found when you plug in the dongle.LiteOn wrote:Hi riley,Mustn't the driver (= synchrosoft license control center software) installation be done with the iKey/dongle being unplugged? But! to stay on track, install the synchro sw first or what ever it says to do in the most recent rev of the manual.

Yeah, I think it's really important to follow these critical instructions exactly. Thanks for correction/confirmation.riley4reason wrote: But! to stay on track, install the synchro sw first or what ever it says to do in the most recent rev of the manual.
