In the midi editors, with the pencil tool, I have to click AND drag to create a note. in all the other hosts i use, you just have to click (once). It may not sound like a big deal, but it is driving me nuts

For the time being, try going into the Preferences|Audio Device tab and uncheck "Enable track buffering" and click "Apply" and see if this fixes it. There is a known glitch issue, when resizing/moving GUI elements, during playback, on some single CPU systems, and will be fixed, in the ACID 6a update.

I've used ACID since its birth, but stopped at version 4, primarily because they refused to upgrade the clunky audio recording interface. A separate pop up box that could only record one input at a time was no match for the (then new) tracktion. So if ,as the screenshots imply, acid 6 has proper record channels on the main interface then I'll be happy.
Looking forward to the review

Someone posted above that Acid seems better for longer arrangements versus Live 5. I don't do much loop based music (only for song writing and coming up with ideas). What makes Acid better than Live 5 for longer arrangements (if you have warping turned off)?

There is a known verified issue with the Track Properties tab always reverting to the last position, on the right, when you re-open ACID. This will be fixed in the 6.0a update. Other than that, I know of no other tabs re-arranging themselves. Except for the Video & Surround Panner, I keep all the other available tabs docked and the Track Properties tab is the only one I have an issue with. Are there any other tabs that you are having problems with?Reverse Engineer wrote:but sadly i was having small issues (tabs rearranging themselves

I tried it, and it worked. However, someone in the forum mentioned that it does not work upon rendering. I haven't had a chance to verify it myself.billybk1 wrote:Has anybody tried this free Senderalla plugin thingy, in ACID Pro 6 yet? I like click n drag much better than having to toggle between different set note lengths, or just sticking with one note length then dragging the end of the note. Less clicks for me.Bigg John wrote:In the midi editors, with the pencil tool, I have to click AND drag to create a note. in all the other hosts i use, you just have to click (once). I wish Acid could delete notes with a right click though.

That was me. I tried everything to get it render and it always has glitches in the render. I even got the source code from Subliminal and had a user at the Sony forums who was a programmer to look at it, but he couldn't get anything to work either:(sgx wrote:I tried it, and it worked. Thats just not good enough.

Really?? I took that as a gimme! Didn't even look for it! Just assumed it was there. Like I said earlier, I'm waiting for Pro 7, Then it will be like the current version of Project 5 v2.CANE CREEK wrote:Its now 2006

Well, its inconvenient, but you can render to a new track pretty easily.CANE CREEK wrote:Its now 2006

For me, there are more aggravating "just not good enough" issues with other hosts that always keep me coming back to Vegas and Acid 6.0.

Ive heard with Acid 6 you get bundled Kontakt , so sony are encouraging you to use Kontakt.randygo wrote:Well, its inconvenient, but you can render to a new track pretty easily.CANE CREEK wrote:Its now 2006

I use Kontakt 2 in cubase and when you have 16 instruments or samples loaded with convoltion reverbs inserted things start getting very CPU heavy , however i just press freeze.
What you supposed to do in Acid , render to Audio and loose all your settings/patched/tweeks etc thats just not good enough.
A FREEZE function is very very important and no DAW should be without one.

I suppose, if there is enough demand, from users, ACID Pro 7 could get an "official" one button freeze feature. Great for marketing and keeping up with the Jones's, I guess, but it would not be all that different from what you can do now, with the Ctrl+M shortcut. Which will quickly render a selected track, multiple tracks, or just a clip to a new track automatically. Then just right click on the rendered track's FX track icon and select Bypass All FX to deactivate all fx and recapture the CPU cycles and then finally mute the track. Not as seamless, as a one button freeze, but works just fine, in a pinch, nonetheless.CANE CREEK wrote:Its now 2006

Personally, as a longtime SONAR user, I have hardly ever needed to use, it's freeze function, in my projects. If it never had it, I probably would never even miss it.
If you really want an "official" freeze function, in ACID Pro 7, then I suggest, you put in a feature request:
