More sidechannel tools?

Slim Slow Slider sidechains being used in eXT as we speek & i think i will use sidechain comps on my bass in allmost every track i do!!!!!!

no lets spread the word that this is the way to have big bass & bass in your kik & not have a muffled mix

i found that to be the best way to implement side chaining in eXT seeing as it can be added to the mix at any point of the mix

WARNINGS!!!

when you render the sequencer the sidechain is not included in the render, you need to load eXT vst in the sequencer set the bpm to be the same as the edit with side chaining on set the vst the synk externally then render that way

or the easy way is to just record it

If you do not need real time processing you can also give a try to our (free) Digital Peak Meter or its (non free) cousin, the Digital Peak Meter Pro. It lets you record an automation envelope following the signal peak.

You can then copy this envelope to another track and assign it to any other parameter of any effect. It works as VST and DX plug-in.

There is a link to quick start guide on the products pages.

It's a cheap solution for non realtime side chaining, and it's quite flexible. (many customers use it to automate video effects from audio tracks for example).

if you have energyXT then this will let you side chain anything live

in the eXT template i have here you will need soma's enveloper, & eXT, get it here

i have put eXT vst's as FX on the master outs so i can lable what thay out put to,

if you open the mixer in the eXT vst in the main window you will see it ducks the volume (that the bass is playing through) when the kik plays,

thuss letting me have lots of bass & a bassy kik

I just want to comment that the enveloper can be used for so much more. It's by far the most used plug I've made.

I use it to make side chain filters and delays mostly, but it's good for ducking vocals, gating reverb, super pumping, noise gating, expanding, dynamic effects, etc. It's especally fun when the amp or offset or time is controlled by my jitter pluggin.

Use a couple to control the position of my proximity pad for some really wild stuff!

just to add thank you again for your plugin!!!

not only dose it let you use any vst that supporst automation a side chain plugin, but its allso crap loads of fun live

allthough i never thought of the dub delay effect though


in short, somas plugin & eXT will let you use any vst in side chain mode

this has become my faverate midi plugin overnight

i keep wakeing up with new idears
