I just recieved the version 1.2 update and this is better than ever. When I first bought this I got an awesome fx unit (my new favorite) but now I got an incredible synth too! Either as a synth of fx this thing is really really good.

Give it a try if you haven't tried version 1.2 yet. I think you will love it.

Ahh, it is so much more than an effect. I have many filter plugins from various sources, including some big names, and some small. I even have a couple real analog filters to compare to... and memory of having worked with real analog items in the past. And this one stands up to and surpasses the best of them.
The Tone2 filters, both the Filterbank2 and the free one are fantastic.
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT work on this, Markus! Congratulations to you and your partner.

Thanks for the info (I just tried the free bifilter, and was thinking how cool it would be to have a synth with those filters):D
Then i discovered this post, and have just opened my wallet
Damn that synth sounds Phat & Analog with almost no cpu hit

I'm no hater, but I've gotta say I wasn't so impressed by the free version (haven't tried the payware).. I reckon the Kjaerhus filter sounds much nicer.Sequent wrote:The Tone2 filters, both the Filterbank2 and the free one are fantastic.

totally...I've been blown away by Filterbank2. I have to gnaw my hand for reaching for it on just about every little snippet of sound that I've been using. - alot of these sounds don't use it but I just have to hear how the Filterbank will wonk the sound. GREAT effect!!

biFilter has a totally different sound IMO, so I think that it's a matter of taste. Personally I prefer biFilter and FilterBank2.stk wrote:I'm no hater, but I've gotta say I wasn't so impressed by the free version (haven't tried the payware).. I reckon the Kjaerhus filter sounds much nicer.

for my money (ha), Kjaerhus has a much "thicker" sound on the lp, whcih is great for rumbling subs, and and really nice squiggly squelch on the bp..

I think what makes Bifilter stand apart is that there is all manner of cool stuff in there, not just a filter.
I'll have to compare the lowpass filters in it with other things later, but I find I use the distortion models and stuff like the amplitude modulator more than the filters.

OH MAN! I JUST BOUGHT FILTERBANK2 LIKE I SAID I WAS GOING TO!! IT'S SO AWESOME. Today I was making some really PHAT PAHT PAHT FAT FAT FAT sounds.
First one was a simple trance lead and I turned it into a freaken EXTREME TRANCE LEAD WITH A POWERFUL KICK (the filter made it sound like there was a powerful kick going along with the lead because I was using a saw LFO)
And then I took a really simple bass patch and turned it into a screaming electric guitar-like thing.
Edit: But the synth version is not working at all because I can't send midi sigals to it... weird. The demo was working fine. I'll e-mail some pics to the creator.

Yes, FilterBank2 is really great.
I've just complimented it in the Tone2 forum:

Synth version also works now in v1.2, although I mainly use the FX version !
