Yep i have the 249c aswell :) Personally I don't like the knobs all that much (nor where my keyboard is as it would be inconvenient to be reaching forward all the time) and obviously there isn't quite as many as on the BCR. I rarely use the BCR all the way though.

I would say if you're looking for increased cubase productivity you are definitely not going to get a heap of stuff out of the bcr/bcf. I mean it has 8 faders and say you load in a sampler like battery. Batter loads about 1000 channels into the mixer so unfortunately immediately you're going to be scrolling forever to find the channel you're looking for*

As I say with ableton live though more knobs are better, the midi control in that program is outstanding.

* I am not the be all and end all of knowledge about this, I mention this also to be disagreed with, please, someone disagree with me and let me know some tips and tricks ! :)

Likewise - I'm watching this thread. Having never used a hardware mixer of any type except a dinky PA mixer when playing live, this whole realm is pretty fresh to me and I want to be sure I get hardware that is going to complement my software setup. Again, it is one track, one instrument (or vocal line) at a time; although now I mention it, I can see where it might be nice to change the amplitude or pan of different tracks easily while monitoring my mix and building a song...I think at the price, maybe I ought to just get my hands on one and give it a try.

I think I need a good night's sleep for a change to help me think about it too

I'm hoping someone can please help me with this.....????

Further from my original post, I thought there might have been an error on the BCF in terms of the assignment of the actual fader in bc mode, however (having no solution I have gone back to the emaulations)it even happens in Baby HUI mode too, so this makes me think that there is a problem in how it is relating to Cubase - or else the unit itself is faulty - has anyone else experienced this kind of behaviour?

I know there were some problems reported with SX3 snd the Grneric Remote, but I thought the emulations wouldn't share this problem - anyone???

Just wading through all the messages right now to a get a better
idea of things so forgive me if this has been asked before.

I've done all the updates (firmware and USB drivers) to my new BCF
2000 and managed to fix a problem with the BC Editor (thanks to
Behringer support) by retro grading my Java from v1.5 to 1.4.8 and
have used the Mackie and Baby HUI emulations to great effect, but
now, being able to load the actual Cubase presets from the download
page, I have grown quite fond of a few functions on these that are
absent on the emulations.

However, after loading a project(blank or otherwise) in SX (3.1),
when I go to change a fder (sometimes the rotary controllers too)
the fader for channell 7 immediately shoots down to zero.

As you can imagine this is a bit of a problem.

However, when I spoke to Behringer support about this and the BC
Edit problem, they said they had not heard of this behaviour.

Has anyone come across this and might be able to advise me how to
fix it?

Many thanks
Craig Duncan.

Hi All!

Does anyone else have this problem?
My BCF seems to have a conflict with an external FireWire
drive I use for my samples. The drive is connected to a FW_USB2 PCI slot.
The BCF is connected to my pc's own USB 1.1 Hub.

Now, whenever I fire up Cubase, the BCF does its thing but it kills the FW drive (computer no longer sees it).

I've tried connecting it to one of the PCI slot's USB ports, but the problem remains. I've tried disabling IRQ for USB, still nothing...

Anyone know a solution to this? I've heard somewhere FW and USB
sometimes disagree, but this really bugs me. :x

I have been pmed by a user who was smart enough to not accept PMs back, so I don't actually know what I'm doing here, but this is a repost:

I constantly work like this ...

Cubase SL3, BCR2000, Lacie FW drive with samples, Access Virus connected via same USB, Shuttle Pro USB, EMU X-board and everything works fine (although it was a littel tricky to get the Virus to install properly).

Cheers,

Now does this only works with older versions of Fruityloops? I'm using FLstudio 7.

Most of the links in this thread no longer work. Anyone know a place where one can still find some useful presets and templates? I'm particularly interested in something to make the work in cubase/nuendo easier.

After spending a lot of time reading this thread, I couldn't help but notice the constant references to http://bebop.audioshot.net/bcr-bcf.html . However, I cannot find the bebop.audioshot.net server. Does anyone know the skinny on this?

Any other recommendations for BCF2000 presets, besides the Behringer site?

Using the latest and greatest on the Behringer Download site, is this thing pretty solid?
