Is cubbase sx3 3.1.1 the latest version?

Released Oct 2005, yes that is the latest version. If it's crashing on a specific song, it's probably a plugin that you're using that needs to have "Old host behaviour" checked.
If it's just random crashing, then it's most likely your system, either some piece of hardware, or more likely, your OS. You aren't going to get a decent answer without listing more details.
