(or anyone else)
Part I
Did you say that in then new version that users will be able to drag effects around in the mixer? for instance could I move an insert from one channle to a send if I decide that all of the sudden I think I need to beef up a part?
For instance I Have a lead with reverb then I decide I need a conter point to the le4ad with a new synth but I want it to share some of the same effects as teh lead, will I be able to some how squezze that new instrument in there without having to delete the reverb (and other effects) and re-add them in a group/send?
I think it would be incredible if I could just drag the position of effects around in the mixer, for instance from one channel to another or change their orders.
I seem to recall reading something about this but I can't remember if it was a list item, a feature or an FR.
Part II
A bit related...
Another feature that would add 'modularity" to the classic mixer would be a component much like senderlla or Fruity's send. That is an insert effect that can pipe sound to a receiving version of that effect. (kind of like an insert send.) You can control the send amount and the dry amount, you could even change the control from a wet/dry fader to separate wet and dry faders.
Senderlla does this fine for me now but it would fit well with what XT does and save people from having to discover Modular's (that the dev's name) Senderella.
PS Joren, I know I've been a bit of a pain lately (I feel I have). I appologize; I just get so wrapped up in the dev as I start to make more and more songs with XT.

The mixer has full drag and drop. So you can do stuff like move effect from insert to send, copy from send to insert, re-arrange, duplicate and of course drag effects from browser into the mixer's send and insert slot.
All inserts have dry/wet control
If a VST comp is routed to lets say 3 other comps, there will be 3 level controls on the mixer strip that look like the send controls (this is not visible by default).
The mixer does not offer features like Senderella.
cheers

Ah, this sounds beautiful. Is drag-and-drop something you're planning to make standard throughout XT (in sampler/between sequencers/audio parts etc)?jorgen wrote:The mixer has full drag and drop. I remember someone asked for an option to allow feedback loops a while back, and you sounded quite amenable to the idea - any further thoughts on this (I realise it's probably a very low priority for you)?jorgen wrote:The mixer does not offer features like Senderella.

jorgen do you have any teasers to show what you are talking about?

It'd be excellent if ctrl+drag duplicated the effects as well. It would be nicely consistent with the rest of XT, and most likely the fastest way to copy an effect.

+1 that would indeed be a killer - throughout the whole drag&drop mechanism.

how else can we copy a FX from a group channel to a insert?robenestobenz wrote:It'd be excellent if ctrl+drag duplicated the effects as well. It would be nicely consistent with the rest of XT, and most likely the fastest way to copy an effect.
