CD Input - slicing / auto splitting audio?

Perhaps something like this exists... if so you kind folks might point me in the right direction...

I have a couple of audio only sample CD... I'd like an app that records 'em to wav while they are being played but which could dump the audio to a different file at the press of a different key...

Dont know if Im making sense... like winamp is playing the cd - I hit space and it starts to record - the end of a loop I press space again and a new file starts recording the next loop???

Perhaps this is the standard way of doing things - Im just a little slow on the uptake

...samplerobot allows you to rip complete sample audio cds, a freeware called waveknife might also help to extract the single sounds of one track after rendering it to a .wav. finally Recycle and a bit of manual editing works, too...
