Well it looks like Michiel Post has finally cracked.

No piano is over $50. And I thought I did well picking some of these up in group buys for $70, Old Lady is still one of my favs. It looks like I'll be picking up some more.

But I suppose this begs the question, is this the future for purchasing samples? No paying for DVD duplication, printing, packaging or distribution. I know download sites aren't new, but these pianos are huge. I see they have been compressed to a usuable size though.

An aggressive marketing move that is great for the customer, but I wonder what the wider reaction will be to this.

Looks great - I'm really intrigued by those Hybrid Piano's (for Kontakt 2). Anyone tried them yet? It could do with a bit more information about some of the products - like what exactly is in the addon packs for the Piano's for example.

Of course he can sell the libraries for a wink and a handle, when the discs he sends out are bust, broken and empty !!

And then he refuses to ship you a working copy !

I have never, ever, experienced such an unprofessional company.

I bought two DVD libraries. One of the DVDs was corrupted. Thusly: send an email to the culprits - PMI. They checked some of their DVD's (which area ll home burnt I might add)and sure ! A batch of DVD's was corrupted !!

Ok, so am I getting a new copy then ??

All the info is still valid, and aparantly the playable demos, but no mention of the new download purchase site. There is also a thread about this on the northern sounds forum.

I don't have these hybrid pianos but am intrigued by the fact that you can mix and match aspects from different pianos together. Also the holy grail KSP script add on will work with other piano samples, to make the most of Kontakt K2.

Bump - has anyone tried these hybrids for Kontakt 2 yet. I'm very interested - still looking for the holy grail of piano's and would prefer something more organic than just samples alone - is this it? The price is fantastic.

It seems we lost contact and you have a defective disk from us. I stumbled over this post by coincidence and would certainly like to rectify the situation.
So kindly send me a new email with your order number and the current shipping address and we'll send you a replacement disk or -if you prefer- a download link for the product that came on the damaged disk.

I think this is the future for quite a few small developers like myself. Since we started this we had really good response and many fellow developers are going to follow this trend.

I agree, those prices are fantastic! I figured I was all set on pianos, but it's hard to say no when they're only $50.
