I completely agree. AT2 kicks serious ass! I love that you can get great sounds without tweeking the hell out of it.

By the way, like someone pointed out before, this trick is meant to be done using the "input" knob. According to the user manual, you should turn it up until the louder parts of your song make it go all the way up until it turns red, then turn it down just a little.

I think you are missing the point here.
The "input" knob is pre FX and it's for setting up your levels.
It can give you +15dB max.

But to overdrive a cleanish amp like the THD and have it scream like a real amp you need +45dB.

Just try it, you gonna love it.
It responds to every dB very well just like a real amp.

Using that trick on any of the clean amps sounds pretty good in general. Even if I'm not going for a real dirty sound, putting an EQ stomp before the head and uping the output seems to give nice punch. More 'real' amp sounding to me.
