There is a vst instrument coming out soon, I think it will be called
TruePiano
which is very, very good considering the last build was around 50 megs, I think.
After getting my Motif, I've come to the conclusion big isn't always better.
but here's a taste of TruePiano, forgive the playing though..

this is the bright preset, but there are several darker, warmer presets as well.

Hey, that doesnt sound to bad actually. Without hearing other libraries side by side, its difficult to really judge. But imo that sounds absolutely amazing for 50MB.
And the playing was also very nice!

Is Native Instruments Akoustik Piano that much of a joke that it doesn't even get mentioned... I'm also very much on the quest for a good piano, I've used all sorts, but can't find one that I can truly get away with repetitive playing motions without it giving me the good old Shotgun effect, I really need something profoundly detaied or well programmed.... Supposidly NI uses this morphing technique to give u a surposed 127layer piano, but nah.... I don't think that sounds right!
Heres how the song sounds, you'll hear what I mean!

I tried NI Akoustik this past weekend at my friend's studio...I was shocked at how bad it was. Everything has that platicky, "plinky" sound to it. Sounds very artificial in the mid register.
We listened to a track with NI Akoustik, and replaced it with ArtVista VGP, and it sounded perfect in the mix.
For solo piano, I think Sampletekk's stuff is on par with The Grand, and VGP seems to be the easiest to fit into a busy mix...

I'm currently using a soundfont called pianissimum, it's absolutely free and I think it will surprise some of you. However I must say that I was pretty interested in that TruePiano, after listening to the demo by bluedad! Does anyone have any info on this?
Thanks

It's still in beta, but this really is an amazing piano VSTi. I can't go in tech details too much, but it features interstring modulation to make the piano sound 'alive'. Imho it sounds very convincing, even better than some sample libraries I've got (combined with PSP's pianoverb)...jpmarques wrote:Does anyone have any info on this?
