Hi,
I am specializing myself in efx, learning tweaks, automation etc,
i'm very interested in how efx plugins can put your music in a higher level...
So, i'm searching for good plugins, to pass on beats (audio damage stuff, some glitch/gatering stuff), and in melody/bassline (like some great delays, reverbs, etc)..
Which plugins, can u advice to test?
some referente of what i like is:
smarteletronix stuff
dblue glitch
audio damage ronin
audio damage *
and some high tech/futuristc buzz efx stuff
and some artists that i like:
nathan fake
james holden
( all border community stuff )
trentmoller
i'm also searching for any kind of efx with bit reduction parameter...

Some free Pluggo stuff like Harm-Z or Snow are dawn amazing for melodic/harmonic experiental effects
they are granural kind of , a bit similar but in their own ways, to KT granulator (smartelectronix)

Analog Industries Filterizer is V.nice ... I like Coldfire DistBit for crunching up drumloops ... Ioplongs plugs are pretty far out too ... i've just written a tune by putting some drums thru his Resolator ... it's a cool plug
hope you're having as much fun with these new toys

whre can i get it?
Have a look at the Cycling74 forum ( Pluggo subforum especially, but not exclusively )
though these i mentioned are third party ones, what you're asking about experimental effects is fully on their ground

Good luck !

A host capable of interesting routing configurations is the main thing you need for interesting effects. Some skill with an audio editor helps too. The effects themselves will only get you so far.
Try Audiomulch (particularly useful as it allows feedback) or eXT on the routing front.

Try ShapeShifter. It has lots of cool effects so you can experiment endlessly, and is very easy to use! There are 7 effects in total.
Also, you can re-arrange the order of effects for even more possibilities.

i'm an eXT user and definitely recommend it, modular routing really opens up new possibilities in terms of signal path, automations etc.
You may also want to have a look at plogue bidule, which is also a modular environment supporting vst, but with a lower level aspect to it (down to math modules etc), might be a better option if you're fine with your host and really wanna TWEAK.
Also, i tried camelspace and shapeshifter, but i tend to dislike these big multifx plugs, lately i'd rather use several different plugs with less possibilities and tweak the hell out of each of them... It makes me feel like i'm more in control of the fx chain for some reason...
Just my .02
Ps : i tried most of the arcDev stuff sometimes ago, bit iirc it was really too wild to be really usable for my taste, same for most of the jackdark stuff i tried, really gritty in a way that i dislike (tell me if i'm mistaken, i'll try the new ones, or the older ones again)... but hey, to each his own, that may be what you're looking for...

----Definitely checkout Metallurgy. Also Shapeshifter and Ronin might be of interest to you if your budget is a bit more. Or go all out and get Reaktor, the granular stuff will blow you away.
