Anything like Chainer that will allow me to play two VSTi's?

I have two drum softwares of which I use the kick from one and the rest of the kit from the other. I'd like to be able to play these two VSTi's simulataneously and I only have the demo crap version of Chainer. I call it that since the maker never updated Chainer any further... seems like an abandoned project. Regardless, even in the chainer demo these two drum softwares (Battery and DFH) don't work while any other "synth" VSTi's I pull up do work. So, are there any free plugins or work arounds that will let me play two VSTi instruments off of one midi input at the same time? Thanks for any help anyone can lend.

Will Kristal or Energy XT work as a VST plugin as I'm using Cubase?

Energy ET is a VST, VSTi or Stand-Alone modular host/sequencer/sampler+ that can do heaps for very small $
I do have a VST 'chainer' that I used but I forget the name. It is free and worked well.

Even without a chainer type plugin, you can use the Midi sends in Cubase to trigger multiple VSTi's or Midi devices from one track.Revolver wrote:Will Kristal or Energy XT work as a VST plugin as I'm using Cubase?

There are sends available on Midi tracks, which can be used for layering, or with transformers used to map notes to specific outputs (VSTi's).
If working with drums then the drum map can be used to specifiy which VSTi will sound when a note is played.

Hi,
try Phrazor. The design was influenced by Chainer.

CONSOLE will, you can use it in a VSTi or VST slot. Its a similiar to Psycle, you can have many instruiments and effects all routed together in different ways. So, you can trigger a number of instruiments whith the one keyboad on one track. Its a very handy utility to have no matter what your software is. And it works as a standalone host, too. And not too expensive, as well.

Energy XT. Get it now!
Kristal won't make any sense as it doesn't work with VSTis, and it won't run as a VSTi either.
Yes, you can do some of the things Bas mentioned directly in Cubase, but eXT will make your life easier for all times, there's no way around it.

why cant you just load them both up in your normal host?Revolver wrote:I have two drum softwares of which I use the kick from one and the rest of the kit from the other. Kristal will do what you want if you also get the free CTAF's MultiFXVST and use them together. Seib's VSTHost will do what you want if you also get Seib's free VST bridge Legree. Phrazor will do what you want. Tinytools' free OUTI might do what you want, not positive, and if so would add looping tools.
