well that's how the story goes :
I'm building a new studio in my home town.
I already have cubase sx 3, reason 3, uad (the cheaper pack),
but I need more quality plugins to start with ...
I took a look at the free effects section of K-V-R and downloaded whatever I could that knew I will need .
I need help or suggestion about great plugins that are free to use legaly.
or ... and that would be the best ... contribution from anyone who really wants to help.
I don't know where to ask if not on KVRaudio Forum.
I almost give up and then my friend says to go to KVR and ask there!
so ... I wrote it down hoping someone will help. thank You for your attention :)
have a nice day.

All the best with your venture.

It helps if you give more information. Is it a home / project studio or is it pro? What genre do you intend to go for?

If you go pro or rental studio, start to think in terms of large budgets. Free stuff can often do the job in a home studio, but very few people will be willing to pay rent for a studio if it does not have all the expensive stuff.

For interest, can you tell us what the studio looks like and what hardware & equipment you have. Pics maybe?

soundcard : Edirol FA-66
Computer : ASUS not dual processor, 1 GB ram whoch I think is not enough ... Cpu flying to the sky with more vst effects
software : Cubase SX 3, Reason 3, Uad (smallest Pak)
MIC : Condenser NOVA from M-Audio
MONITORS : M-Audio

I want it to be pro but for now it's a semi pro something between Home to Pro Studio.

anything else ?

Regarding the CPU issue i seriously doubt that adding more memory will help.A more powerful CPU is what you need. Preferably dualcore (or dual dualcore!!).

My goto compressor is the Endorphin.

Check the other stuff out as well. High quality, some hard to find stuff (the dominion can be a life saver)and free!!!

By hardware I did not really mean "computer" but rather keys, synths, mics and guitars.

Are you building a real studio (bricks, walls and floors) or just a DAW (computer with software)?

You did not mention what genre you produce. Whatever you do you will need the basics, i.e. compressors. The best free ones IMO could be found at http://www.digitalfishphones.com/

You obviously need reverb. By far the best free one is ambience at http://www.smartelectronix.com/

For equalisers, chorus effects etc you will get the best free ones at http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/

What else? It depends on what you do. Probably guitar effects if you use guitars etc.

You asked in the effects forum, but if you look for free instruments you have to try a few yourself. Again, there are so many that you will have to decide what fits your style.

The best free EQ is poshifopit, for mixing I ike it more these days than all the other EQs I've got (including the UAD-1 plugins, Hydratone, PLPAREQ,...).

My genre is RAP, R&B, Trance, jazz and More.
as you know it is mostly knowledge :) I believe I got it although I am not george benson or chickcorea or something BUT I believe I have a very good experience in those genres
hope I you know my genre now :)
if anymore questions please feel free to ask.

I think there are many tools that cater for your genre. Unfortunately I am not very well educated in that genre, other than I own Project 5, a host I can recommend and it comes with many usefull effect & synths that specialise in this area, specifically the velocity beat slicer.
