Anything like Chainer that will allow me to play two VSTi's?

How would Kristal do this when it doesn't even support MIDI?

Because DFH Superior does not allow any external sample loadingKriminal wrote:even easier, just sample the kick from one, and load into the other

Hi Bas, I'm still using VST 5.1PB2 as I don't like the new SX interface and all. I've looked around for this and originally didn't find it but now I see there is indeed a layer function when using Multirecord. I'll give that a try, thanks! One question though... do you know offhand if VST 5 also has midi sends? If so, where do I find them. Thanks.Bas wrote:There are sends available on Midi tracks, which can be used for layering, or with transformers used to map notes to specific outputs (VSTi's).
If working with drums then the drum map can be used to specifiy which VSTi will sound when a note is played.

Well the thing is DFH Superior is a mega realistic drum sample library that is 30gigs in size. There are on average 46 velocity layers for each hit (right hand, left hand, rimshot, etc). So even dreaming about doing anything of the sort would be insaneKriminal wrote:oh well, sample the lot and load them into a decent rompler then

Hey Bas, just wanted to say thank you! The multirecod in Cubase set to layer does indeed allow me to play both VSTi's simultaneously.

Try using it with CTAF's MultiFXVST. I used to do it a lot.Sascha Franck wrote:How would Kristal do this when it doesn't even support MIDI?

In VST5 there is a switch in the inspector (a small right facing arrow) that can be used to show more options.
With the Inspector view opened there is a drop down menu called mult-out.
Click on that and you can add outputs, so one track can drive two or more outputs at one time. That may be easier than using multiple tracks in multrecord mode.

Sonar runs multiple VSTi's simultaneously as well without any fuss, also with complex routing if you wish.

If you cannot do that in your host without any assistaqnce from another plugin/host, you really should be looking for another host.
