Whatever happened to all the FL posts?

Before the release of FL6 there were zillions of "how do I xxxxx in FL Studio?" posts. Then, FL6 got a release and for a week or two there were posts saying that this or that didn't work properly, then version 6.08 got a release and everyone seems to have shut up. Not just shut up complaining about the original buggy 6.0x releases, but shut up completely.
So what happened?
Is FL 6.08 so easy to use that no-one needs to ask the old "how do I...?" question anymore, or what? The alternative is that people hated FL6 so much that they decided to ditch their free upgrade and stop using FL5 too.
I know I was used to the FL5 interface / workflow and initially thought, "eeuurgh, this is different, I'm not sure I like it," but after a short time I've found it an altogether easier and more satisfying experience. I love my FL6( .08 )

I stuck to 5.02c...there wasn't a single thing that seemed anything more than an excuse for the developers to advertise a "new" version. They certainly didn't make it faster or more stable. That's my redundant opinion of course, as i don't do drum & bass.

Personally I changed to Energy XT after 2 years using FL non-stop. Little by little FL had lost all sense to me and I needed something different. XT gave me what I needed.

I stuck with 5.02 as well. 6 was total flop of a release imho. Any buzz was totally wiped out by all the bugs, then after just a big yawn.

Not faster, but not slower either, even with more features. Release 6.08 is as stable as 5.02c, neither of which have crashed on me. Is greater than 100% reliability possible?Reverse Engineer wrote:I stuck to 5.02c...there wasn't a single thing that seemed anything more than an excuse for the developers to advertise a "new" version. The new, flexible mixer is a Godsend, as is multiple MIDI input. The PDC implementation is a bit lame, but I prefer not to use plugs with delay anyway - however, the PDC section per channel is great for messing with audio timing for those looser rhythms.
Chuck in some excellent plug-ins - particularly the Multiband Compressor & Reverb 2 and it's a great update IMO.
I don't do D&B either.

Like most other FL Studio users with 6.08 I am just happily and quietly using it.

Although 5.x felt more solid, and although I considered/tried switching back to 5.x, i just couldn't, because the 6.x mixer (with al its routing options) is fantastic.

I'm using the older version (on my desktop) because i'm paranoid about the tracks i was working on not quite staying the same if i update.
I have the 6.something installed on my laptop and havent noticed any problems (though i havent used it much)
I'm thinking of getting XT in the near future, but only as way to save synth/fx chains like 'instrument patches' to be quick to load up in new projects, etc.

Ideas are bulletproof... I am not.

Despite primarily making DnB, I thought it was well worth a new version with the mixer and new effects. Not that it matters because the price to upgrade was zero dollars, so I dont care if the jump to a new version is justified or not.

I also stayed with 5 .. I have a really bad bug with 6 that Image Line didn't seem too interested in helping me with, I didn't really find much in 6 that made life any easier than 5

I disagree my friend, but unless you work like me you might miss it...the multi-channel piano-roll is absolutely fantastic...my bass samples (yellow tools pure e-basses) uses different channels for different style samples (pop, ghost notes, slides, hammer-ons...ect)I use to have to rely on the ghost notes in the piano-roll and use one midi-out (thus also needing it's own PR) for each style...now I can just use vsampler without the midi-out and write all the parts in one piano-roll...where before I might use 4-10 piano-rolls just for the bass...I wish there were more contrast between the colors for the different channels, but I can work much easier now, surely you can see the benefit of that for me anyhow...Reverse Engineer wrote:I stuck to 5.02c...there wasn't a single thing that seemed anything more than an excuse for the developers to advertise a "new" version. The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
