Ooh. I'd also like to hear responses to this. If I could make a soundfont that contained all my favorite sounds without having to buy a Creative card... mmm...

So far the only one I've found is Awave Studio, but that isn't free. http://www.fmjsoft.com/ It's a good an easy one though. Check out the demo.
Still wonder if there're any free ones around. Maybe Synthfont... hmm.

Vienna is very nice but a bit outdated - if you're one reason you could use the nn-xt and then convert into SF2

Vienna is the bOMB for making soundfont'z.... just over look using the creative card;
(If it bother'z you that much) !! ....hehe
Anyway, you can always use a vsti that load soundfonts and uses filter / mod'z as you
might need to save as a preset later. .... NP.
Ive Used Vienna, for say 11 years, without a prov, so go on, and nJoY!!

Extreme Sample Converter, although not free, does a great job of converting to/from soundfonts - and you can create sf2's as well.

just thought Id point out that there are 2 editors called Vienna and Viena, just a slight spelling difference....fuking stupid IMO
1 Vienna is a soundfont editor for compatible creative sound cards
2 Viena does not require a creative soundcard
