More comments :
I would like a little bit less reverb to make the sound more prsent , more here than over there and after listening for a few minutes and getting used to the sound i can say that i was wrong about that BBE Maximizer.

Thanks for your words and for listen. I think I used the BBE in the Queen track and in some else. It's a great plugin. But I dont have enough skill yet with Cubase but improving

Good playing but you should really think about the tons of reverb - IMO quite too much.
I'd rather go for a (tempo) delay and pan it slightly, then use a little reverb for extra width.

Yes, since you like me, frequently post on the Native Instruments GR forum, I bet you're using Guitar Rig 2.VaiHalen wrote:Can you listen the tones I get? Can you guess what amp sim it is?

I'd agree with the comments on reverb...a tad too much.
Possibly I'd even say you might think about rolling back some of the highs too - it pronounces the digital nature of the distortion (I'm just not much of a fan of s/w distortion)...it all seems a bit too scratchy.
And possibly the compressor settings - what attack are you using? Sounds a bit clicky at the start of each note.
To me it sounds obviously s/w and obviously digital...sorry
As for the playing...well, you can obviously play a guitar
It's very...errrrr...eighties? You don't by any chance have big bouffant permed American hair, and wear spandex drainpipes with white pointy boots, do you?
Sorry...I just couldn't help myself - synthy types are in the majority here, and I can't resist taking the odd dig at geetar wankery. I object to synth wankery too, but that kind of 80s axe-butchering just gives me mental pictures of guitarists masturbating their instrument, wishing their own tool was as big. Do guitarist masturbate as quickly as they play? Hmmm...one of life's little mysteries.
Errrrm...I'll get me coat and hat...

Personally, I do. But then, I can't play fast either.kritikon wrote:Do guitarist masturbate as quickly as they play?

Good playing.
I love the Queen Thing and Gary Moore sound.
Not crazy about the others.
The Blues Licks sounds terrible to my ears.

The Queen sounds very good, I like the Gary Moore sound, but it's more of the old Gary Moore imo and just a tad weaker than his sound (I am a huge Gary Moore fan as well as Queen)...I agree with the others about the reverb...just curious though...why label the pieces by the artist..I am inspired by these artist and true, like you I had different artists in mind with each of my songs (see if you can guess who I had in mind in Azimuth)...but normally I would leave that up to the listener...that's not a criticism btw, I'm just curious about it. I think your playing is very good and I do not think you need to validate it by comparing it to well known artists, it stands fine all by itself...VaiHalen wrote:Can you listen the tones I get? Great stuff. The playing is great, and I think you nailed all the styles you are going for.
It's funny to me that some would say you've got too much reverb, when the overall tone is so heavily effected with just about every other process imaginable. But that is how the overall sound is created. I think the tone is fine, and in the end, its all a matter of personal taste.

you make an interesting point about the reverb...however I think I see the use of reverb differently than you and perhaps differently than others. There are exceptions of course, but especially on guitar it's my opinion that reverb should not be used as an effect per se (again, there are times you would use it as an effect), but more as a tool to make the guitar sound more natural. With that said, imho if the reverb really jumps out at you, often it is too much. I think that's why most amps have the reverb between the pre-amp and power amp or at the end of the line level signal chain and not integrated directly in the pre-amp like eqs or overdrive/distortion. Some of the other tones you speak of imo are more meant to be really noticed, and shape the tone much more.BERFAB wrote:Great stuff. However, if I were going for a big echo sound on guitar I would likely go with delay and not reverb. But again, I am not saying this the "right" way, but what works best for me.

My personal preference is to always have the verb at the very end of the chain. I find that anywhere else tends to muddy the signal with often inconsistent results. If I'm going for a big hall effect, I'll put a fairly long delay just before the reverb. The reverb will give a nice controlled decay. Isn't delay just a longer reverb, all said and done?
BTW, if I'm not mistaken, didn't you recently post some fairly tasty shred licks? Not my medium of choice, but I thought your sound was very well done, even before the remix.
Cheers

No, it's more like reverb is an infinite number of delay linesIsn't delay just a longer reverb, all said and done?
but I agree, you can use long delays instead of reverb.
It gives you a reverb like effect but with a lot of presence.
I like to use 1/2 sec delay with a fast decay (2-3 echoes) and then a minimalistic 1/2 sec plate reverb.
