Hi, guys!

I'm about to purchase Rhino soon. Playing with the demo for some time now, I think it could be a workhorse synth for my setup. Anyway, I would like to hear some opinions on some of what I'm curious about. :)

From what I've seen, there are 1 Moogish sound pack and 3 Oberheim sound packs on Daniel's site. So, I'm wondering whether it's the case that Rhino filters have characters closer to Oberheim filters than to Moog ones. Could anyone clarify here? Having no direct experience on either, I'd better ask forumites here. :) (I don't assume that Rhino filters were modeled after any of those, just curious about its characters.)

By the way, do you think that Daniel's Classic Moog sound pack cover your Moog needs well enough?

Rhino's filters are very flexible offering many choices for sound design. However, since Moog and Oberheim filters are each unique, my banks of these clasic instruments are sample based using the origional instruments. These samples are then manipulated, layered and processed into creations exceeding sometimes what the origionals could do. In very few cases, Rhino's filters were used when extremely long filter sweeps were needed to save disk space. Most of the time the Allpass filter was used so the samples could be panned but not colored by Rhino.

The Moog bank is actually two seperate banks of 64 patches pre-bundled for a better price. Watch for another bank to be released soon using these sounds but taken a littler further away from the origional.
