Hi, I'm looking for a way to trigger the notes of a specied sequence by using a controller ala TD20 sequencer. For example, on the TD20 you could make a sequence, then you could use a single pad, trigger or cymbal to play each note on that sequence one right after the other. That way you could trigger a different bass note on a sequence with each succesive hit on the kick drum and always have your sequence follow your playing. I'm trying to trigger the notes of the lead line of a song by using only one note or by using a fadder on a controller. Could this be done with Abelton live, Cubase, a VST plug-in, shareware program, or do I have to go hardware?
THANX
Cubase? Live?

you can use Live to do something like this. Do what you want a sequence to start and stop as you trigger it from a single button/key on a midi controller? You could make an audio sample of this lead line and then chop it into pieces which are triggered to play when they receive a midi controller message. This could be a range of buttons/keys or a single button. You can set Live to play these 'pieces' of your lead line in a follow on order 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then 5 etc. So each time you hit your switch it plays a single note of the part, and has the next one cue'd up for when you next hit the trigger.
of course I coule be talking in toungues??

I just got a Yamaha DTXtreme, wich is capable of doing that. But I can imagine it's out of your price range (though I don't know what a single drumbrain would cost).
