I have the same system but with a Athlon64 3000+ and a AP24/96 ...yet I can only get to 19 poshifopits until the system fuxors.
waht have you done to optimze your system so much?
Have I mentioned the the algorithm and filters are responsible for the CPU load? You can not say 22 instances are possible in general. For example an Electri-Q instance only containing 1 filter needs only 2.8% CPU Usage on my machine. This way I'm able to run up to 350 instances and I've only got 1,4 GHz...

P.S.: Now back to work, enough of the forum-fun-factory for today...

the test is made by loading the plugin in its default state-that's my guess

living sounds wrote:Also, what is the main difference between Warm mode and Basic mode (it's not in the manual).
With "Basic" the filters are perfect for itself (in the model they are passive filters with the analog "effects" outside the filter module). The filters "Warm" are analog modelled itself (introducing a very very small portion of harmonic distortion and noise).
living sounds wrote:Will the overall sound continue to change in further versions (I'm considering to buy it, and would like to have backwards compability in future projects).
No I'm very happy with the sound right now. Within the internal roadmap we only plan to add new modes and keep the existing ones untouched. Anyway I hopefully upload a new version today with 64Bit processing (for hosts, which supports this). So I'm really better back to work NOW!

Yeah I just loaded the plugin

fwiw ASIO4ALL latency 1048 samples, does not affect the CPU but is the lowest possible value without audio glitches for the internal Realtek HD Audio thing.

Christian,
first of all thanks!
now second, what limitation there are on the demo version of electric-Q ?
EVERYBODY,
which ways do you all knw for optimizing AMD for better or more CPU power ?
who need to use asio4all and who is not supposed to ?

GUI stops working after 5 minutes. That's all.

It's a very capable & configurable free eq plugin, with a sweet, simple to use &, one could argue, innovative interface.

Christian Budde wrote:Users who'd like the EQ can buy the Electri-Q. The preset system here is up and downward compatible.
I understand that, and I've been wanting to buy it. Thing is, electri-Q still works like a cutdown version of posihfopit (the only advantage being the slightly revised algos). No British/scream mode? I've considered these choices extremely flexible in posihfopit. Why cut down on Electri-q?

I'd almost rather pay you just from having found posihfopit so useful, despite its annoyances.

my sytem is already optimized...but only safe optimizations (ie not many processes have been removed etc etc)
I must have a superlame system, I can only get 16 before everything redlines - and that only if I use Orion Platinum! Tracktion2 gets 14 then falls over, eXT gets 15...

3.0GHz P4 HT Enabled Asus P4P800-SE mobo 2GB RAM, M-Audio Delta 44 soundcard. And I've stopped a pile of services and startup stuff...

what's asio4all ?
and read the message before this one :) same problem!

Intel Celeron 2800 overclocked to 3417 MHz, 1GB RAM, Audiophile 2496 (latest drivers), Windows XP SP2 (tweaked like hell), Cakewalk SONAR v5.2 (/w DirectiXer VST wrapper)

Test result:
21 x posihfopit = 93% load /w 256 samples latency.

Seems like Posihfopit is better optimized for Athlons. I even had an mp3-player, SynthEdit and a bunch of other software running in the background. And I was using my standard gaming OS, not my optimized music OS. Wasn't it similar with Ambience where Athlons could run alot more Ambience reverbs compared to Intel machines?

my recent experience with an intel cpu tells me they defenetly underperform with almnost every vst. not just posihfopit.
not to mention denormal problems which still aplly to even the newest intel cpus...
for vst work amd give better performance. not even a doubt about that.
