Hello,

I messed up in providing a correct direct link to my song.

I apologize--I am new to this wonderful forum and internet file sharing.

So many people here were kind to write me offering a helpful solution to my mistake.

The artist You made a link for my song.

"Gott rette die Narren" Fritz Fiedler

Thank you and You for listening:)

oh well...

I'm submitting so late again because I couldn't decide what song to post - actually I had chosen another song about two weeks ago with is really mad and exciting and alternates between 9/16 and 10/16 - but today I finally decided to go for another track which is slighly older but more in my usual boring melancholic style (which up to now I rarely submitted for the contests) - however it originally contained a section in 4/4 - that's what I don't like about M's rules for this month - the short 4/4 bridge which would disqualify the track would have made it more sophisticated and dramatic... - but then two minutes are actually to short for it anyway so I fianlly just took it away - still emotional enough I'd say - so here it is - conventional but honest:

EDIT:

Thanks to Farlukar for hosting it:

Time is an illusion - lunchtime doubly so.

Ok, it's been like 15 years since I've submitted anything here. You'd think I would have gotten better in that time, but I think this will prove otherwise. :D

Overflowed

Almost a real song, in 15/8.

I haven't entered for bleeding ages, so here's something sketchy:
U-bahn. It's made from onions and highly-trained badgers.
Time signature all over the place with variable pattern lengths and the odd twisted loopy thing.

Hello again. If this is not the correct bit rate and direct link way to follow the rules of the contest, I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Thank you for being patient with me.

My last minute efforts have a signature of 7/8 at first but got mixed up and ends in a 3/4 with a tiny bit borrowed from Strauss....

At first I wanted to call this "Jail Bait" because she looks like she's 19, but she's really 17......

Duelling Sarods

This goes in cycles of 17+17+17+19.

And the Doumbek was played live by me.

To buck the trend of showing off musical prowess by using the odder times, I instead chose to go with the simple but solid 3/4. I also added the limitation of only using Free plugins, hence the name: "Three Four Free"

This month's song is dedicated to all those wonderful people giving it away for free. Thank You!

Lyrics:
I Can't Believe You've Given Me
Thanks for Generosity
It All Came So Easily

My concept of "trance music" has always been simultaneous meters playing off one another to create new interlocking syncopations, as with the 1980's King Crimson's Balinese inspiration for their "electric gamelan". Nothing else can get my head in a calmer space as well as this technique: something about the mathematics of subconsciously resolving beats gets my mind off of other things.

This one has a 15/8 bassline playing against drum parts in 12 and 14. They're just ostinatos that unerringly go upon their merry way until the end.
