If you just want to control your VSTi on live situation, I highly recommend Forte... I've been using it for the last couple of months, 2-3 gigs/week, hours and hours of practice at home and have not experience any problem. Visit the website, join the forum and see if it's what you're looking for.

I am trying fruity loops now............I love what i see untill now. though it is not what i was looking for.
I was more looking for a tool like chainer, but for now i am hooked to creating my beats with the fruity loops trial version.
