That's a hell of a page title!
Haven't looked at every thread on every page so I don't know if what you're looking for is in there?

Tried this page but thanks. Most of the topics seem to cover compatible libraries etc. I was interested in the repitching of chords which 3 is supposed to do. Didn't download the demo cause I'm sick of cluttering up the hard drive with bits I don't use all the time. Again..Cheers

When they first said it can do polyphonic audio I thought
WoW
So a chord of C, E, & G could be changed to D, Ab and A in theory,
Sadly that's not the case. C Chord pitched up 2 semis will still be just plain D
When I saw there video and tried the demo basically you have a multitrack sequencer,
Track 1 Bass
Track 2 Vocals
Track 3 piano
I think thats what they mean by polyphonic repitching.

Yes, it can only shift the whole chord. The difference is that Melodyne does a great job of pitch shifting/formant shifting, compared to most pitch shifters. Previous versions were optimized for transposing monophonic sounds, so version 3 represents a new algorithm. However, I think the main purpose of the polyphonic algorithm was to allow temporal quantizing of guitar, piano, etc, rather than pitch shifting.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Interestingly enough, my post didn't stretch the page. Your quote of my post however...M4M wrote:you_certainely_know http://tinyurl.comGlassback wrote:http://www.google.com/custom?domains=ww ... melodyne+3

I could easily have done this with it though, but thought I'd post the whole thing just cos I was impressed with the length... um...

If I thought Melodyne 3 could actually change the "type" of chord, I would have bought it straight away. The way you've explained it to be is what I expected (but I hope you'ce planted a seed in devs' heads)Ocean Zen wrote:When they first said it can do polyphonic audio I thought

Sounds interesting on paper but I wonder how that sounds in the real world.deastman wrote:I think the main purpose of the polyphonic algorithm was to allow temporal quantizing of guitar, piano, etc, rather than pitch shifting.
