I think you right Krim, "Vapourware" maybe hence;
"My only worry is that I may soon be forced to take a "day job" which would push the release of this to who-knows-when."
To me the perspective is all wrong, the dials are not at the right angle and yet some of the switches are.
"Scamp" looks worse and would look better as a "front on look" rather than being squewed.
Also given the INTRODUCTORY price of scamp @ $39.95 for a filter I wonder now how much a synth would be, at a reasonable guestimate I would think at least double $80 - $100.
Then there's the cost of a new system to get it to work..........
I await the future with interest, best of luck Admiral!

You should read what kevink said a few pages before, AdmiralQuality. The big metal source selector knobs are really pointless. In case you got rid of them you'd probably also get rid of at least 50% of the "GUI too big" complainers. These knobs waste half of the GUI for what? For nothing, really.
As said, look what kevink suggested ("slot machine" alike selectors) and you might be able to keep the retro look while at the same time making the interface 1000% more userfriendly, both by ergonomical and visual aspects.
Personally, I think your graphic skills are just great, but I prefer functionality over form any day.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I like tasty GUIs a LOT. But I don't need software to look like hardware at all. IMO there's no point in that, especially in case it's causing troubles (in this particular case even before the thing gets released).
I like the Logic and U-He GUIs most of all. Smart looks, highly functional, easy to fool around with.
But then, this is just my opinion. There seem to be quite some hardware-lookalike fans around.

Hey Krim, you are not only in copyright violation by hosting my image on your website, but you turned it to a JPG which, of course, reduces the quality (how convienient for the the case you are trying to make).
Anyway, don't worry about it. You now have permission to host that blurry picture. I'll link to it when I'm looking to save bandwidth.

I hereby give up on this AQ guy and his synth.
Check out my sig:
i dont think its harsh..
its too big, badly laid out, terrible knobs, totally off putting
i wont even bother trying it just because of that...i think its that bad ....

Ah, so good to see KvR is still the place to come to slag off other peoples hard work and labours of love without fear of proper reKrimination
. I'd hazard a guess that more than half of the people criticising AQ over his GUI or lack of "customer focus" couldn't even get close to designing a decent GUI or even selling their wares successfully.
FFS, if you don't like it, no one is making you buy it. If you have an opinion and wish to voice it, do so respectfully and constructively. I've tried/tested/demo'd shed loads of software & hardware that I didn't like the look of or feel of but didn't find it necessary to slate the designers from behind the safety of my computer screen where we all seem to find a new level of bravery and become obnoxious pricks and the worlds expert on the given subject matter.
For the most part, KvR is a great place with a lot of good natured critique and well informed people. Sadly, there are some c**ts here too. If the cap fits....
FWIW, I quite like the look of Poly-Ana and look forward to actually using a demo so that I can form a proper opinion of the product, unlike some who have judged it before they've even seen or heard it in the flesh. Keep up the good work AQ

i have only judged the GUI, i havent said a word about anything else, and as he was the one who put it up to ask for ppl's thoughts on it, i dont see the problem, ???????
if he didnt want comments or criticism he should have kept it under wraps until it was released!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jesus....

You're mostly right, Lovesign. We're mostly good people, at heart, here on KVR. The problems AQ is experiencing began when he started insulting us very early on in this thread or the other thread on the same topic that he started at the same time, when we heaped great compliments upon his work and offered a few sensible comments for improvement. AQ in return insulted us and so everyone got defensive and reacted accordingly.
I'll gladly try a demo when he's finished, if he offers one to us.

Hey Krim, I hope that the new GMedia OB emulation has a smaller GUI!
(my 666th post just HAS to be a LITTLE evil!)

I like the GUI. You guys are unlearned if you don't realize the essence behind the GUI design. It's supposed to look like a real world object, from a real human eye perspective. You can almost see your hand moving the knob when you use SCAMP, and feel the change you make to the sound. It's like psychoacoustics for GUIs.
